Bank of England boss Andrew Bailey is accused of standing by while Barclays 'debanked' a key Brexit supporter
Bank of England Governor Andrew Bailey has been dragged into the row over the 'debanking' of Nigel Farage after another leading Brexiteer revealed how he had been shut out by a major high street bank.
Arron Banks, who campaigned with Mr Farage to leave the EU, claims Barclays closed his accounts because of his support for Brexit – leaving the motoring customers of his insurance company at risk of being left without cover.

I suspect that the thud of rolling heads will soon be deafening. Good. the list goes on . Talk about a pr disaster for those banks and individuals behind all of this.......
ENERGY Secretary Grant Shapps has revealed he and his entire family have been victims of the woke de-banking scandal.
The senior minister said his wife and children have all been blocked from getting accounts at major banks because he is a ‘politically exposed person’.

Quite the stat from Dominic Lawson in the Sunday Times:
More than 5,500 customers have had their bank accounts closed by @natwestgroup
. None was able to talk to anyone at the bank about why it had happened. Some were told to "use a food bank".
use a food bank ? Who could possibly be cheering this sort of debanking scandal on except the utterly deranged ?

Strangeness is amongst us, Zany started off saying it was all bollox, then mentioned he had done some work for CAB and said to the grasshopper you wouldn't believe some of it.

Not just zany , but theres a number of folk in this thread , who increasingly have egg on their faces cheering on the indefensible. I think they will quietly slink away into the shadows as farage comes out of it looking the martyr , and the growing scandal engulfs more and more people and politicians , the pivoting will become unbearable.
Most folk who dont necessarily need to be a nigel farage supporter could see from the start this was a complete no no , but hatred blinds some people beyond the point of reason.

Yep, saw that. There is a large cancer within the establishment and its eroding what trust and integrity the plebs had in it, in the first place. It's an anti-democratic cancer that was been triggered by a democratic vote. The liberal elite are a serious threat to the people of this country.

Oh, I could think of a few on here who could cheer that on. Especially, if some of those people who got de-banked voted for Brexit or are transgender critical.

I mean there is no gutter on earth the dimwitts in the labour party wont climb into and swim merrily along is there?
i agree with your post , a massive cancer within the establishment. Christ help us if that tumour that is new labour get into power , because as i have repeatedly said , if this is what its like under snp and tory gvernments , imagine what it will be like under new labour? Remember the bonfire of civil liberties under them the last time?

In the Trump camp one of his supporters was heard saying kill them all he needs to rein that in because you can bet that will come back on him. He is in enough trouble already over his supporters.

It will be identity politics on steroids and will become more authoritarian.

It will be identity politics on steroids and will become more authoritarian. yep. From the last labour government....a glimpse of a prospective future starmer one....
The shocking truth about the erosion of our fundamental civil liberties by Tony Blair's government will be exposed this summer in TAKING LIBERTIES, released on DVD in the UK cinemas by Revolver Entertainment October 15th 2007.
Right to Protest, Right to Freedom of Speech. Right to Privacy. Right not to be detained without charge, Innocent Until Proven Guilty. Prohibition from Torture. TAKING LIBERTIES will reveal how these six central pillars of liberty have been systematically destroyed by New Labour, and the freedoms of the British people stolen from under their noses amidst a climate of fear created by the media and government itself. TAKING LIBERTIES uncovers the stories the government don't want you to hear -- so ridiculous you will laugh, so ultimately terrifying you will want to take action.
Teenage sisters detained for 36 hours for a peaceful protest; an RAF war veteran arrested for wearing an anti-Bush and Blair T-shirt; an innocent man shot in a police raid; and a man held under house arrest for two years, after being found innocent in court. Ordinary law-abiding citizens being punished for exercising their 'rights' -- rights that have been fought for over centuries, and which seem to have been extinguished in a decade.

I don't see this persisting once the politicos realise that this could affect each and every one of them.
Banking wokery will be legislated against and even those on the left who laughed at Farage will support such legislation when they realise that this could happen to them.
