There was enough mistakes ( to put it mildly ) in your first sentence to not bother with the second one . I did try though . I don't even know what you call a mistake. It could equally be you being wrong. I get this a lot these days. People shout and scream that something is wrong and yet don't give any idea why they think so. I often conclude they are too scared or are just trolling. You claim that a collectivist government works on the same principle as an absolute monarchy ( ffs) then you waffle about about how long that monarch rules ..then you claim they abdicate when they are too old . We don't know yet what the political policies are which will dominate the next election.
They may not have surfaced yet.
Of course there are potential minefields like EU membership.
Restricting farming re green issues like on the continent if pushed by Labour could explode here, we just don't know where the battle grounds will fall.

There could be much argument about where the Tories are on the spectrum and about labels about what is centre and what is left and what is right. But they feel like they would be pretty pointless. Let’s ignore for a moment the obvious possibility (if not inevitability) of major internal conflict in any party trying to accommodate the egos of both Johnson and Farage. Let’s pretend they could somehow make it work. I assume you would aspire to policies not that different to the existing Reform and UKIP and all the other similar parties. They together get around 5% of the vote. They failed to get a single seat anywhere in the country in the recent local elections (apart from two seemingly anomalous wards in derby).The history of Change UK shows just how difficult it is for new parties to break through. Say there is an election in October 2024. How many seats do you realistically think this party could win? UKIP disappeared because of Brexit and then post Farage, Gerard Batten went OTT on the Muslim front. I had spoken with Batten a few years earlier and he seemed decent and intelligent so was just shocked later that he was so politically naive when his time came. Don't get me wrong in some areas tihngs need addressing yet in no way was it a national issue. I guess people were hoping post Brexit the Tories would become decent again yet the political fights with May and then Johnson to get any semblance of Brexit took their toll and COVID and Ukraine happened both being really bad and Boris failed on both fronts. He might not see it that way thinking we had a dangerous US Democrat govt in power and we had to play along. |
