Surely the obvious answer is the most cost effective one? - and it simply is not cost effective to fit heat pumps to many old properties. Agreed, which is where we started. But the claim was not cost effectiveness but non viability. Both can be linked .

I've still got wind down windows and my kitchen truck has proper quarter light windows. My only electronics are for the ABS and airbags.

Have you tried fitting insulation to a non-cavity wall Zany? This aint the subject for you is it? Aren't you a builder? Yes indeed I have fitted insulation on a non cavity wall and its done frequently. Here you go. ( you can put it inside instead if you prefer. ) I know the process Zany and it is not frigging cheap. Older members of our society can get a government grant for cavity inswulation but not for external wall insulation. Also they cannot get a grant or help for internal insulation.

Of course its bloody expensive and that makes it cost prohibitive. It would work out nearlya ss expensive as the property itself and still would not have the same thermal effiency of cavity walls.

Well some while back I agreed that due to the nature of heat pumps and there low energy output it could make some properties non viable.

Why do you think many people are now asking for them to be removed? After being conned with the junk in the first place.

You were claiming people moving into new properties were asking to have them removed. Properties meeting very stringent insulation regulations. Not only that but the site you claimed it for made no mention of using heat pumps as their heating. I agree that some old houses might be economically unviable, but not that this applies to all properties. That' clearly not true as both I and others on here have them very successfully.

EDIT sorry I will add that all governments apart from China are no longer enforcing them.

It also changes the appearance of a building and may not be allowed on listed properties. There are plenty of other things against it that I'll let you work out for yourself.

You are right they were forced in order to give them traction, to ensure the needed investment. But now they stand alone so enforcement is no longer needed. Though of course there is still the process of phasing out ICE vehicles. Heat pumps are old tech really and they work just fine, its just people not liking change as always.

The entire community of scientists from every country in the world all self serving retards. On balance I still believe them over you.
