They don't even know what they're asking for, Wonky. I was speaking to one yesterday who earnestly informed me that we'll all be dead in ten years due to the climate "emergency". That's the level of delusion we're dealing with. Name? Was in the news yesterday.

What they say they are is easy enough to find out. juststopoil.org/"Just Stop Oil is a nonviolent civil resistance group demanding the UK Government stop licensing all new oil, gas and coal projects."
Oh so. No planes. No lorries. No ships except sailing ships
No lubrication for engines of any type
No synthetic rubber. No chemical industry.
And the armed forces are reduced to bows and arrows
It's going to sound stupid when i say this but i have roleplayed this universe since about 1985. One of the stranger table top role playing games to come out of the cold war was a wargame scenario called "twilight 2000". This begins with Honiker using his T52's to invade west germany and Maggie using my battlefield tactical nukes against him, and suddenly the whole of western europe is back in the stone age, what's left of it.
There are no high grade petroleum products any more, no aviation fuel so to the relief of BOTH sides the americans can no longer "provide close air support" (or cause blue on blue incidents). War is reduced to small groups of former military organisations using gasohol fuelled vehicles. World trade ends because ships no longer have fuel of any kind to run with. The Cutty Sark is put back into operation. The arabs don't give a flying fuck about you anti-petroleum tossers and saudi becomes the new Washington DC. and Mohammed becomes the new Jesus. The Chinese equally give not a fuck about you anti petroleum tossers and Peking (we didn't use the native names back then and why should we now) becomes the new World Second City.
And almost all of Africa starves to death apart from the bit that's still run by white men
OK THAT's the GAME universe.
Some of that won't happen now. Apart from almost every black african starving to death because there will be fuck all point escaping to western europe it wil be starving to death too. No means to grow the food the population bloated from immigration needs, and no way to transport it. On the up side, no immigration unless they walk or paddle the rubber boats
Did i miss anything ??
The pertinent word is new. Pertinence is that existing home based sources won't take us into the future, without those sources we will have to use either costly imports or, as John and I have said, substantially close down the chemical industry and road building....and that's only two areas that would be affected. Now get your brain into gear and understand.

I do remember Erica Roe, if she did a streak like that these days she would get five years for a sex hate gender crime no doubt about it. i was there when she did it. I remember thinking she’ll catch her death of pneumonia running about without any clothes on and said so. But yes i think such overt displays of obvious gender would receive the harshest possible penalty. God knows how the guy whose balls took the bails iff the stumps would manage.

Sky high energy prices and foreign energy companies laughing all the way to their french banks. When did we last open a new oul or gas field ? But you choose to ignore the fact licences to extract from existing fields are for a specific time. You seem to gave been fooled by tbeir desire to close those when they run out Back in 81 my car, my boss’s car and my boss’s boss’s car were all fitted with incendiary bombs with mercury triggers like the ones the IRA used to blow the legs off Airey Neave. Charlie’s jeep went up in Park Row. The bomb squad found the others. The perpetrators objected to us finding a cure for cancer. Funny how one of their leaders didn’t object to being treated for it some years later. He should have had the courage of his convictions and died for it. My father in law had to when he found the drugs started killing him faster than the disease, and dad, who took everything people like me in that job created, only lasttd four years more. And the last one was pretty unpleasant.

Then they should get a better logo because the present one makes them look ridiculous, it invites ridicule and anger. Nothing about their actions or their logo is in any way acceptable. If three word slogans are good enough for the government.......... F-all to do with the point I made. Their Logo is a nonsense in terms of influencing the public and their actions are ridiculous because they are just making matters worse. Both the demonstrators and their supporters are showing a lack of intellect.
