Braverman having broken the ministerial code a week ago is a very odd choice. She is a loose canon. I think he will live to regret this one.

Realistically Johnson must have got something in return for standing aside and allowing the coronation.

I can’t see him as being ‘part of the team’ myself, I’m more inclined to the view he’s been induc d to sit on the sidelines.

His comment that he is not the right man at this time suggests he sees a time when he might be … I don’t know.

The Mail changes its allegiances and who it supports according to who's in the position to most likely confer honours and peerages — though it might continue with bits of anti-Sunak tittle-tattle for a little longer...

I was half expecting Johnson to be given the Home Secretary role... but obviously not. Or maybe he was but he turned it down. Whatever the deal between Sunak and Johnson was, we may never know. But Sunak has surrounded himself with Johnsons cabinet so he must have realised he had to get the Johnsonites on board one way or another.

Starmer's flapping because he can see the markets are happy with Sunak and his new cabinet, he fears the turbulence of the past few months will calm which will be reflected in the polls and the Tories will be on course for another election win in 2024. I'm not saying that will happen, but you can bet Starmer's worried about it.
