The young chaps in Cardiff are having fun, burning cars, molotov cocktails at Police and roads being ripped up. Cardiff must be one of the few places outside of Chicago where you won't notice the difference.
Wales Online reports that there are items on fire in the road, with riot police weilding shields the other side of them. It says people are taking rubbish, chairs and sofas towards the fire.
One woman was reportedly heard suggesting people there take her old carpet to add to the fire. There are also reports that people have been pushing concrete blocks off garden walls and are carrying them towards the fire and the police.
Perhaps if Mr Drakeford emptied the bins more regularly the people wouldn't need to set fire to their old rubbish.

This is ELY, Cardiff.
This was always a dodgy council estate.
I grew up in Cardiff in Whitchurch, the third poshest private housing after Cyncoed where all the jews lived overlooking the lake, and Llandaff where the people who owned city businesses lived.
Other Cardiff council estates were generally occupied by blue collar workers who drove Ford Cortinas to get to their usually skilled manual work in factories and the steelworks.
Ely was the estate where the unemployed lived when everyone else had jobs.
But i’m guessing the criminals riding whatever road illegal elctric bike they were riding were black. When the police kill white men all that happens is someone sets up a tasteless facebook page. Only black deaths cause cities to burn.

This is beginning to sound like good fun.
It’s a shame it’s Ely though. They ought to riot in Penarth. They might make a few assembly members homeless then.

I agree that it now appears there might have been less than truthful version of what occurred. Maybe it’s just me but if you run from the police and come to some harm as a result it’s your own fault. Sorry the two teenagers died but driving at speed carries risks. |

Yes it is getting interesting you can see a police van though how close to the boys they are is in question. Also oyu can not tell if they were following the boys.
Also what did the boys collide with, has that been established yet?
Being on e-scooters on the road is an offence though not often prosecuted.

Having viewed the footage I expect all cctv to have a time stamp on it,it might have been removed for reasons not yet clear. |

But these electric motorbikes and scooters are a menace on the roads and pedestrian areas, and I am surprised that there are not more reports of deaths and injuries of both riders and innocent pedestrians and bus and car passengers. Only yesterday, an electric scooter shot across Stamford Hill Broadway crossroads at speed against the traffic lights and caused a bus and several other vans an cars to brake and slew themselves a toss the road. No one appeared to be hurt, it had there been an injury, there is no way of identifying the idiot who caused the melee.
I thought most of these electric scooters and motorbikes were illegal in all but a few designated areas. Why aren’t the riders being arrested and the offending machines crushed…?

That wasn’t an e-scooter it was one of those bastard bikes favoured by deliveroo that do fifty mph. It says a lot about Labour that they are forcing cars to do no more than 20 but allow these fucking death traps unrestricted all over the place despite their utter illegality as the EU rules on electric bikes say they can do no mire than 19mph under power and then the power must shut off I know this because i own one, a 2004 Giant Lafree Twist pedelec i bought second hand in 2008 to rehabilitate my leg muscles after a tendon injury. |
