There is no problem with a 'private' speed awareness course, although I do think people being caught speeding should be named and shamed, it is who she 'asked' to sort out her personal problem that is the point. Should a minister of the crown be 'asking' civil servant to make them tea, polish their shoes, sort out their personal problems, wipe their arses......................? So, if that is your issue then pushing her from her job for such a trivial misdemeanour would be a non-starter. But your faux outrage actually means you want shot of the brown woman. It's not about the speeding, the fine or the points it is about the possibility that a Minister of the crown was 'attempting' to use the civil service in an inappropriate manner, can you not see that? A civil servant would, one would think, be under a lot of undue pressure if a Minister asked them to 'clean her shoes' depending on the seniority of the said civil servant, of course but would that request be acceptable?

An example would be nice lest how can one answer the question? I see so you cannot read or choose not to understand. Have there been allegations of late both on here or in the media that civil servants are abusing their positions. No specific cases have been forthcoming and until that happens there cannot be an enquiry. Other than that it is just Media hype. In Braverman's case there is a specific 'accusation' and as such should be looked at.

Wriggle and evade all you like but Sue Gray ring any bells and have not MP’s questioned civil service bias around this particular issue? You just don’t want to answer.

How do you know are you privy to the ins and outs as to who has been questioned. There has been no suggestion of civil service bias in this case, unless you can show some. It has been shown quite clearly that Gray and Starmer have no questions to answer, I think you will need a better example than that.

You spouting Gray and Starmer have no questions to answer just illustrates your own bias.

The circumstances around Gray's appointment are, quite righty, under investigation but nothing untoward has been found, what is waffle about that. You make accusations but provide nothing to back it up. Time to show or go.

Yes I read it in the Telegraph today ‘Nick Freeman, a motoring lawyer known as Mr Loophole, said high-profile figures often completed speed awareness courses in private and that Ms Braverman had “not broken the law, nor has she done anything wrong” Now if anyone does know about Speeding Tickets its him he has won enough Court cases to prove it There is no problem with a 'private' speed awareness course, although I do think people being caught speeding should be named and shamed, it is who she 'asked' to sort out her personal problem that is the point. Should a minister of the crown be 'asking' civil servant to make them tea, polish their shoes, sort out their personal problems, wipe their arses......................? The day you actually do "think " before you post sensibly based on logic will be the day Hell Freezes over, do you realize how many drivers are issued with Speeding Tickets by Police Civilian Staff or Council Staff ? thousands of them every year and you want them named and shamed, sheer stupidity from you again The only people that will know you have been issued with a Speeding Ticket will be you and the person who sent it to you, plus the DVLA Driving Licence Section, or if you are not offered a Speed Awareness Course because you were way over the speed limit or already have penalty points on your licence and and very likely to be disqualified. I knew you could simply pay the fine and accept the there points, or take up the offer of a Speed Awareness Course usually in a group of others drivers , what I did not know you could ask for a one to one course, or that some authorities offer an online course. It appears to me that Braverman did not know this either, that is probably why she asked others to find out for her, she paid the fine and had three points on her Driving Licence record months ago now it has been leaked to the media why now ? and why? whoever did could well be sacked for doing so breach of confidentially regulations

'Questioning' is not investigating, show a specific incident that you feel needs investigating and we will all listen. You cannot, of course, use Sue Gray as that 'is' being investigated.

Of course she knew that's why she asked a political aide to help here sort it out. Don't forget she was head of the legal profession at the time.

Are you hard of thinking, people questioning the actions of civil servants is the prelude to wanting it investigated, you aimlessly shuffle words and think you debate, you cannot answer a simple question.

The course uses zoom . You can see each other . If you couldn’t Braverman then you shouldn’t be allowed on the road . I've done a speed awareness course, they offered hot drinks and biscuits in the 10 minute break There was no online option offered Wasn’t the online bit brought in during (or because of) the Covid pandemic? It looks like speeding drivers will only be offered the option of a speed awareness course if they’ve not been caught speeding within the last three years, are only exceeding the speed limit by a small amount, and the Police decide it’s appropriate. The cost varies seemingly according to which organisation is delivering the course an where it’s being held. Interesting explanation:.. www.confused.com/car-insurance/guides/speed-awareness-courses

Your are guessing that she knew odds on you have guessed wrongly , she is a Barrister who has probably never ever dealt with such a lowly offence as a speeding ticket , she does have staff who help her do her work like all MP's and Ministers for the simple reason Ministers are extremely busy day in day out she has more important issues to deal with, as already been pointed out she has not done anything wrong she is being attacked simply because she is a Tory its as simple as that Usual Mud Slinging

As I read it the allegation is that she tried to use civil service staff to arrange something in her personal life that was nothing to do with her government duties. This, it seems, broke the ministerial code and she should have done this herself or approached someone outside like a lawyer to make enquiries and any arrangements. It’s this allegation that needs to be dealt with, nothing else, because the penalty for speeding seems to be over and done with…
