Wonderful. Then why is the government banging on about not enough people working...in fact seriously considering the counterfactual idea that if you dont work, your benefits will be cut.
One of the major reasons that people are staying home is that they are too ill to work. They are too ill because the waiting lists for support and surgery is affecting over 1 million people.
The wait is due to shortage of NHS staff and covid induced issues. Why is there a shortage of staff?
Because they went "home" and found other jobs. Frankly the stability of the largest state employed service run by the most unstable government in history is not an attractive proposition.
More genrally YOU CANNOT GROW AN ECONOMY WITHOUT FDI AND / OR EXPORTING..
Vinny's ridiculous suggestion on no tariffs for domestic products is impossible. Other than agriculture, production in any country involves importing raw materials and manufacturing them into something else and selling at a profit. He also never considers the value of technology. No one can claim to be the origin of ideas and data, today the most valuable items in an economy and which must be shared legally. If it isnt, it will be shared illegally.
In today's world of wealthy nations, it is imperative that there is free flow of people and goods and ideas and information under agreed and controlled conditions.
It is pointless to use GDP as any definitive proof of success without comparing it to that of other similar countries. The UK's growth has flatlined this year and its BoE interest rate (borrowing) is still higher than in the Eurozone. The government has put up corporation tax to a whopping 25%. What company is going to invest the serious sums your growth needs when they have to pay such sums, the skill sets needed are now elsewhere and the government is not only a joke but are proven liars?
The cast of the Brexit fiasco panto is proven to be a bunch of Bullingdon Club/Cambridge Analytica idiots who couldnt run a bath. All promises, shiny and new, but in reality, all lies, even after so many changes of cast, the sad results of an illegally run referendum are evident and they have run out of script. Time to draw down the curtain.

Thursday will deliver the greatest Brexit bonus of all. Record net migration figures. It was never about immigration, it was about sovereignty. That our sovereignty is delivering economic benefits that is a bonus.

It's also delivering the surplus populations of a number of impoverished countries, the very thing that Brexit was supposed to resolve in the form of ending freedom of movement. Only difference is that now you're getting Pakistanis and Somalis instead of Poles and twice as many of them.
Plus an Indian prime minister, an African home secretary and a Jewish minister of defence, just to mention a few.
Some sovereignty eh.

No dear, that's the EU not doing their job of stopping illegal immigration across itself. And we know why. They want to punish us for leaving.

Thursday will deliver the greatest Brexit bonus of all. Record net migration figures. What were the promises? Control the borders. Cheaper food, clothes, goods and services. A miraculous NHS. Wonderful education. Far less paperwork and far better trade deals. They forgot to tell you that in the real world, shit happens. Any state worth its salt should be able to deal with any shit that happens. They are best educated and wealthy enough to cope. And the UK was bamboozled by the leader of the Brexit idea and elected to PM when, after the finest education money could buy, he cant understand basic probability, the lifeblood of a minister, is astonishing. And embarrassing. I only hope that the people of the UK hold their collective disappointment to account and kick these phoney elitists into the very long grass where no one can see or hear them. Then the country might regain some international respect.

There was illegal immigration from the EU when we were members as well.
Membership never did anything to stop it.

Everyone's moved on except you pair of 'citizens of nowhere'.

No dear, that's the EU not doing their job of stopping illegal immigration across itself. And we know why. They want to punish us for leaving. OFFS. If the EU wanted to punish you they wouldnt have let you back into Horizon. The EU got well over you years ago and hardly ever mention you. It doesnt miss you or feel anything except slight irritation about the messy paperwork around Northern Ireland. And wonder of wonders, the German car industry doesnt miss you either. No state, nor even the UK, can stop a person with no address ID, record of existence and who has not broken the law, from moving. Ask any traveller, homeless person or anyone living off grid. It is called freedom, wherever it happens.

All the predictions of doom which came from the remain camp were bollocks.
Food prices went up because of the Ukraine war (Ukraine is a major food exporter). Goods and services have been impacted by higher fuel costs (Russia was a major fuel exporter, now sanctioned heavily). Education is among the finest in the world. The NHS has more cash, though Covid tested it. Extremely high immigration last year was mostly driven by Ukrainian asylum seekers.
We have more FTAs than the EU. We're already getting economic benefits.

Illegal immigrants that arrive in the UK via the EU are a tiny fraction (less than 5%) of the annual total that arrive from elsewhere. Most of them legally with the blessing of HM Gov.

Thank you for boosting my thread. My points stand. 😂😂😂 In Vinnyese, "i dont have an answer". In which case he should be written out of the conversation due to vacuuity of mental ability.
