The NHS is in a mess, this is pretty typical under Tory administration. But there will always be the Tory deceivers who want to put the blame on someone else. You mean like Labour because they have been out of office for 13 years they can con us by trying to blame the Tories for the NHS mess, when it was Labour who laid the foundations. I know you don't have a clue of the drastic position of the NHS that NL inherited in 1997, but what are these foundations you claim that were left by Labour?

Contradictory. " how can you legislate criminals - we've been demanding the government legislate against these illegal boat people for a number of years now". Well that's the point 'how can government legislate criminals'... it's quite obvious they can't, I was giving you are glowing example. Why are you asking the government to do something you 'know' they cannot do, that does not make any sense.

Exactly - explain it to your mate.. The NHS is in a mess, this is pretty typical under Tory administration. But there will always be the Tory deceivers who want to put the blame on someone else. Yup, it's the nurses fault for objecting to using food banks.

During Tony Blairs tenure, the average annual increase in spending on the NHS was 6% over and above inflation, therefore a REAL TERMS increase. During this time the NHS recruited more doctors, nurses and other staff, waiting lists fell dramatically, and waiting times fell sharply. In the run up to the 2010 general election, David Cameron and the Tories promised to increase spending on the NHS (but slash everything else). After scraping to a victory with the help of the Lib Dems, the Tories then initiated a Spending Review, and the details of which were announced in October 2010. Spending on the NHS did increase, by 0.1% per year, the absolute minimum increase. In the first 70 years of the NHS, the average annual budget rise was 3.7%. However, between 2009/10 and 2018/19, the average funding growth each year was just 1.5%. You can look at this a hundred different ways, but the truth is always the truth, our NHS is in a mess for a reason, and it began to deteriorate after the Tories came to power. Now see whether Blair also increased management and admin levels that caused so many problems, medical staff moved on.

I wish I could fix it for you, but I suspect it would require nothing less than a full revolution. The only crumb of comfort I can offer is that much of the UK is in a mess these days, as is so much of the world. Maybe thing will begin to return to some level of normality in the near future. I’ll be dead soon enough so i won’t care My youngest has escaped to England. My eldest never will, but her daughter has her eyes firmly set on doing so. That’s about the best we can hope for. The twat in the bay is hell bent on making wales a venezuela of the northern hemisphere but with lousier healthcare. I think the best we can hope for is Putin actually goes for it and pushes the button. They are doing there level best trying to annoy the Russians until they do. I hear Russian TV were begging him to do so.

Why do people continually think if we thought NewLabour did it badly then we must think the Tories did it better. This is a nonsense. What ails the country is what NewLabour initiated and which the Tories and the coalition continued in that it was free and easy for all to come here from countries with economies in much poorer shape than the UK. We can look at many things a 100 different ways but we all come to the same answer that the problem is unfettered immigration from third world countries which puts an additional strain on the NHS, on housing, on education, on social services, on policing on transport and on social cohesion. It is not the fault of Johnny Foreigner it is the fault of all of our recent governments to do the most important thing for the people of this country. The NHS currently spends circa £65 million on translating and interpreting services alone. If I go to Iraq I pay for my translation services, if an Iraqi comes here I pay for the translation services. Can you see a problem there? I can.

I wanted to translate my UK driving licence in order to get a French one but I was not allowed to, it had to go to a paid for official translator.

Immigration is going to be up no matter which party is in the government.
Strange really as Brexit was going to make the UK a third world country if remainers' word was to be trusted. Why do people want to flock into a country which is becoming a third world country?

Yup, like they brought in a law to restrict protesting in a few days. Governments can move quickly when 'they' want, makes you wonder why they are dragging their heels over so many topics.

Why do people want to flock into a country which is becoming a third world country? "if SOME remainers words were to be trusted". As for reason for immigration, jobs are the reason, same as in 2004/05.

There were no flood gates to open, idiot. New Labour allowed MORE OF THE NEW MEMBER STATE COUNTRIES migrants into the UK than other EU countries did, while all countries moderated new member migrants for a limited period. The UK desperate for workers including skilled, professional and entrepreneurs to replace the loss of many of these people under Thatcher, and in order to continue growth under NL, allowed more migrants in. The problem WAS NOT IMMIGRATION PER SE, IT WAS, FOR THE HUNDREDTH TIME the INTERNATIONAL FINANCIAL MELTDOWN that undid New Labour. Not New Labour policies. As far as being the most densely populated in Europe, if that is the case, you are doing a Farage in ignoring the fact that most migrants into the UK came from outside of the EU, and now include asylum seekers.
