While traditional notions of sex and gender suggest a simple binary – if you are born with a penis, you are male and identify as a man and if you are born with a vagina, you are female and identify as a woman – the reality, gender experts say, is more complex. "There isn't one single 'biological' answer to the definition of a woman. There's not even a singular biological answer to the question of 'what is a female,'" Jordan-Young said. There are at least six different biological markers of “sex” in the body: genitals, chromosomes, gonads, internal reproductive structures, hormone ratios and secondary sex characteristics. None of the six is strictly dichotomous, Jordan-Young said, and the different markers don’t always align. Sarah Richardson, a Harvard scholar, historian and philosopher of biology who focuses on the sciences of sex and gender and their policy dimensions, said Jackson's answer accurately reflects legal practice. While U.S. law remains an unsettled arena for the conceptualization and definition of sex, it frequently grounds sex categorization in biological evidence and reasoning. But like Jordan-Young, Richardson emphasized that biology does not offer a simple or singular answer to the question of what defines a woman. Do you have a hat? Now you're sounding like a boffin RR. 😉 I'm sure there's some guy on You tube who can give you the proper answers. Well there you are you see, one cannot question the unquestionable right of the boffin. Although he obviously isn't anything like a boffin.

Wasn't it dead nag that stated some so called experts could not define a woman when he was defending the loser starmer? Funny how he could not name one of his mythical experts tho. And as for the 'experts' named in that piece - Rebecca Jordan-Young got her degree from Barnard College where she majored in Political Science. Barnard is a girls Liberal Arts College which happens to be where my cousins kid went - and lets just say that MIT it is not..

I seem to have difficulty linking for some reason it never seems to work, so sorry all the same. It does not matter who says it if the scientific facts are correct.

I'm afraid there's a lot of people on this forum who can't do anything other than binary. And if something doesn’t fit that model then they rant against it. Hence words like "leftie", "woke" and "Remnant" are littered throughout pretty much every thread on here. They are still not coming to terms with the fact that leave / remain was not a left / right issue and pushed UK politics in to 3d. The idea that the difference between genders has nuances is alien to their thinking ability so will just generate the above words without much thought. Awaiting in 3, 2, 1...

While traditional notions of sex and gender suggest a simple binary – Biology suggests a binary. The biological system known as 'sex' employs two variants (male and female). Tradition in many cases tracks some reality or other.

In general the question is simple in reality it is much more complicated.😒

Are you saying definitively that no male has been born with some female 'parts'?
