what deviations? lammy let the cat out the bag , and then starmer had to run around denying a concrete policy? I was condemning the protesters, you deviated to Lammy's comments on whether or not legislation would be used. we know your position on the protestors. Like new labour of old , the current new labour is against civil liberties including the right to protest. You make that clear in your posts. Your party made that clear when lammy said they would not repeal the anti protest laws.
end of story.

Why are you making this a party issue. We know Labour did it and very few 'protested' about it, so it is now no surprise the Tories are doing it but they are more cynical and are stopping people from protesting about it. Both Labour, in it's present form, and the Tories are as bad as each other and we should all 'be on the streets' calling them out but we now know they would not let us. Be careful what you wish for.

Why are you making this a party issue. its self explanatory. The mind numbing stupidity of certain posters on this site screaming tory bad , protestors bad while staying silent on the fact new labour support this bill is breathtaking. quite clearly its a party issue , the westminster party issue aka red and blue tory , two cheeks of the same arse.

I agree with you, there is no difference between them. What you are doing though is bringing historical events into play. The thread is about the Tories removing our right to protest which is not what Labour attempted to do. Labour voted against the anti-protest bill but it passed anyway, that is down to the Tories.

Clearly, we are slowly moving towards a police state Reason number 243 to get rid of this government "arresting someone because THEY MIGHT commit a crime" - its called Carte Blanche pull the other one Sid almost all of the things that brought orwells words true were done under blair at the behest of the twat in a police cap The Blue Clown Brunstrom with his ‘deny criminals tbe use of the roads’ bollox that the control freaks seized on to make it a standard practice to deny everyone the use of them. The state reacts to prevent those who seek to expose its actions. In 1999 a thousand three piece business suited businessmen caused utter pandemonium in London. Following the very carefully scripted guidance of a genuinely lovely chap who cut his teeth in lobbying on the Sunday Trading debacle in the 50’s just over a thousand people myself included marched into Westminster and filled in a green card requiring the Sergeant At Arms to send a runner to notify my MP that I, as his constituent, had come to the House to see him at his earliest convenience… This procedure dating from long before the 1832 Reform Act enfranchised slightly more than 5% of the population, was of course totally unsuited to having a constituent from almost every constituency in the country turn up together and utter pandemonium and near anarchy prevailed. Within a fortnight the law changed. No one would ever be able to do it again In 2001 tanker drivers almost paralysed the country. Within a month Blair had arranged so it would never have the same impact And then of course there was Blair’s amazing law denying stationary protest within a mile ? of parliament, which could not be applied to the one anti iraq war protestor whose camp pre-dated the law as we cant do retrospective legislation, so they sent plod thugs to smash his camp up instead. That’s how this place is run. All you need are enough twats stupid enough to vote for the control freaks. The problem is every party has such freaks. Nick Cleggs so called ‘protection of freedoms’ bill forced the plod to eradicate all evidence of any conviction, trial, charge, arrest, interview under caution or written note suggesting a man had stuck his dick up the arse of a 16 year old boy, ever, even though it was at the time illegal, because under his coalition it became legal. But the khunt never forced plod to eradicate prints and DNA taken from WITNESSES and NEIGHBOURS at crime scenes ‘taked for elimination purposes’. MY prints and DNA remain on South Wales’ plod’s PNC because i tried VERY hard to kick in the door of a house on fire where i had reason to believe a girl barely out of her teens was trapped in the blaze. Within a minute i was joined by two big lads in plod costume who were more than happy for my help as were the three firemen who joined us a minute later Sadly the girl i believed might have succumbed to smoke or worse had in fact been raped, then butchered, then set alight, by a coke addict but my daughter and i and all the coppers and fire crew didn’t know that until three poor buggers in BA kit found what was left of the corpse. Poor buggers i know they had nightmares for months afterwards, my daughters council rep was a retired fire investigator and knew the lads in question. As my bootmarks hand prints, spit and sweat were all over the door i had quite rightly in the view of all there tried furiously to kick in, Scenes of Crime wanted said details ‘to exclude me’ but they tben kept them on file in the same file folder as those taken from tbe convict, with no notes describing them as bring there for exclusion (A long time pal of mine who worked with me on the tactical nukes we were supposed to use to stop Honiker, who died of bone cancer during the chinese pox pandemic, went to work for south wales plod IT and found my details during a database shakedown and told me about it after he retired) So as you cam imagine, if i find a braided twat in uniform on fire i won’t be pissing on them to put it out, but i won’t be doung anything else to help either.

Protesting is part of our culture and so is respect. The agitators showed disrespect in buckets full, proving just what a bunch of idiotic, minority of whingers wanting things their own way, they are. im not surprised see 2 you take the stance in supporting this anti protest legislation.
All of us can remember the bonfire of civil liberties in the uk the last time new labour were in charge.
The shocking truth about the erosion of our fundamental civil liberties by Tony Blair's government will be exposed this summer in TAKING LIBERTIES, released on DVD in the UK cinemas by Revolver Entertainment October 15th 2007. Right to Protest, Right to Freedom of Speech. Right to Privacy. Right not to be detained without charge, Innocent Until Proven Guilty. Prohibition from Torture. TAKING LIBERTIES will reveal how these six central pillars of liberty have been systematically destroyed by New Labour, and the freedoms of the British people stolen from under their noses amidst a climate of fear created by the media and government itself. TAKING LIBERTIES uncovers the stories the government don't want you to hear -- so ridiculous you will laugh, so ultimately terrifying you will want to take action. Teenage sisters detained for 36 hours for a peaceful protest; an RAF war veteran arrested for wearing an anti-Bush and Blair T-shirt; an innocent man shot in a police raid; and a man held under house arrest for two years, after being found innocent in court. Ordinary law-abiding citizens being punished for exercising their 'rights' -- rights that have been fought for over centuries, and which seem to have been extinguished in a decade.
No worries, because when Boris gets in he will make mincemeat of them, lol on the Brightside, see2 is a member of the Gestapo.

The Tories are doing it, end of, it has nothing to do with Labour. Abstaining is not voting for. Lammy is not leaser of the Labour party.

Hey Einstein most of these protest groups are being controlled by the establishment from the inside, hence all the zealots, who will feck them faster than a dog in heat. Another Blairite backroom decision.

Its not rocket science. Labour will be elected by the popular vote by being more different to the tories , not less different.
