I wore a face mask and informed the man on the desk that I was classed as vulnerable, not a lie, and he said "that's OK" and gave me my ballot paper. Absolutely pointless, expensive waste of time. How did you lot get on? Why? Nobody of any sence wears those snot rags anymore dead nag.

LOL!
Voter ID is a sensible measure. No wonder the lefties don't like it.
I’m possibly remembering it wrong, but haven’t the most Right Wing and reactionary anti immigrant posters on here and its predecessor forum been calling for ID to combat most of their pet crimes and infringements they rant against…? You mean our right-wing reactionary's want to be more like the French? Zut alors!..

France has had ID cards going back to WW2 for precisely the reasons you highlight. You keep wanting us to be more european - well nows your chnace.

And Britain has prided itself on being free from the formalities of carrying ID in peacetime. It’s down to what the majority in each regime is content with. And being a member of the EU didn’t require the U.K. to introduce ID cards. It just made life easier for most continental EU citizens.
I’ve worked and lived in France and still have an out-dated carte de séjour. These days I carry my passport if I’m there (or mostly anywhere overseas)…

I voted, so did Mrs, I used my bus pass and she used her passport. We didn't cover our faces like ninnies or ninjas to try to make a silly point, either. It took no longer than usual, in fact it helped with name spelling. I am in the vulnerable category and wear a mask whenever I go out, why is that silly?

I would say voter fraud is high, in certain parts of London with a high Muslim electorate. Well that's not racist.😔

Not silly in itself, and I don't doubt that you are a vulnerable person, but you implied in your OP that it was to stymie photo ID, when one of the exceptions to wearing face coverings was when it needs to be removed for ID purposes. "Not a lie" in your OP said it all. Photo ID was no problem at all and took no extra time, but did make voting less liable to fraud. That is good isn't it?

I would not remove my face mask in a public place with the inherent risk it poses to my safety, if I had been asked to and told I could not vote, I would not have voted.

Yes I thought that was the official position apart from the first couple of weeks just before and at the start of the lockdown when my wife and I had to wear a mask because she had just only the year before completed stem cell treatment and was still classed at that point as vulnerable and was told the mask was needed. The wearing of masks after that that was always obligatory in places to protect others to my recall.
