It has come to my notice that for every rental property there are about ten people looking to rent. This is an island, with limited space, and we are FULL. We were a long time ago. Thank you Mr Blair and unlimited immigration, this includes basing the Tories who have done nowt.
I went to Tesco in Ely yesterday, there were about fifty immigrants in a group , buying food, cutlery, all the home things, talking god knows what language. All men wearing baseball caps a lot of them. Ilegals, and guess what, you and i are paying for that.
The chances of voting tory are nil.

The last Labour government have tied the hands of successive governments, we are witnessing how hard it is for the Home Secretary to anything about these illegals, Blair just signed on the dotted lines, because he knew he wouldn't be around in the Labour government when the shit hit the fan.
'Sir' Blair, is now worth around £70 million (that we know of) living in a mansion totally unaffected by any illegal migrant crisis, they wont live anywhere near his des-res, and Starmer is pretending it's all the Tories fault.

He didn't do well.
But on the idea that this country full when referencing housing, these figures have recently turned up:
Leeds Building Society has analysed government data and found that there are currently 676,452 empty homes in England.
This number represents an increase of almost 23,500, or 3.6%, over the last 12 months. Of these, 248,633 homes are classed as long-term empty properties, having been empty for over six months. The number of long-term empty homes in England has increased by 4.8% over the past year.
Since the Conservative Party came to power in 2010, there has been 11 different Housing Ministers.
A report commissioned by National Housing Federation and Crisis, from Heriot Watt University, has suggested that 340,000 new homes are needed in England each year, of which 145,000 should be affordable. But fewer than 200,000 houses overall are being completed annually
In addition to fewer unwanted migrants, perhaps the UK should concentrate on having fewer, but more competent, Housing Ministers...

'just put a match to it and claim the insurance' .... LOL

But fewer than 200,000 houses overall are being completed annually That is because the country is full. The people already living here do not want more mass housebuilding and campaign to stop it.

How do you know they were "illegals"? How do you know that they are on benefits? Or did you just go to Tesco, there were a group of people there, you decided to make all sorts of presumptions and then go and post it on a political forum? Sheesh, this forum plumbs the depths sometimes... Edit: illegals can't vote.

It has come to my notice that every successful city and state has a housing shortage, which is why I and a sizeable chunk of my generation spent most of the 1970s living in squats

A high demand for housing and a waiting list is more of an indicator of success rather than sleeping bags clustered round London Underground air outlets…

I was stationed just down the road from Ely in Waterbeach years ago and back in the day it was a nice wee village....drove past a few months past and just amazed....couldn't recognise the place, so many houses and businesses and god knows what else built up around it....it was once a nice little village
