Like me, Red is probably frightened of sex messages from young nurses or receptionists. Quite right Sall, well said. Sometimes these suave good looks can be a burden. You forget. We've seen your photo

The last time I was an inpatient about 6 years ago, three young nurses cornered me and told me they were about to block me leaving. Of course I was younger then, only 80.

ZG, your hand held tracker can be tracked, even when it's switched off. The problem with smartphones is, they're a lot smarter than the people who carry them. Then leave it at home if you are doing something you don't want the police to know what you're up to. But none of your fears explain why you wont give the NHS your mobile number. It's got nothing to do with not wanting the police to know what I'm up to. It's not the police I'm concerned about. This is an example of how naive people are when it comes to mobile phones. Having said that, I suspect the pitifully small percentage of crime solved by the police would be greatly reduced if it were not for pillocks who insist on carrying mobile phones. So on that front, I suppose there's an argument to say we should be grateful for them. Why you would think I'm frightened of giving my mobile phone number to the NHS is something of a mystery.

So your argument is that if we spend an extra 9% we would have a health service as good as France?. Sorry but I simply do not believe you. We were spending the same as France up to 2007 and still had massive problems with the NHS. And as for your usual nonsense about the Tories starving the NHS for funds - it was under Labour where funding started to diverge and only began to recover when Labour left office. So please no more of your silly pro-Labour rants. Whether you believe me or not is unimportant. You are not comparing like with like while pretending you are. Well I compared spending as a proportion of GDP (which most international comparisons use) and you didnt like that as it didn't support your argument. So I moved onto per capita spending and you dont like that as it didnt support your argument. Why dont you tell us what international comparisons we are allowed to use. It didnt shrink for France and they had the same 2008 crash as everyone else. Perhaps the reason for that is that its an insurance based system and thus not reliant on the whims of here today - gone tomorrow politicians to fund. So who did better in 2008 - Labour who were slashing spending on Health or France where it sailed on regardless?

I know we should all be terrified that Google and Amazon know we went into a Greggs, but I can't bring myself to care. Could it be this. Red: She always asks, because when she looks at her computer screen it is highlighted that no mobile number is on your file. That is quite unusual these days, as a mobile number is mutually beneficial, for obvious reasons. Or this Red: The NHS and my local surgery have my postal address and landline number, they can easily communicate with me if they so choose.

The comparison that is obvious is the spend per person.
You could argue that we cannot afford to match that of France, and GDP would be part of that argument. But your argument is the NHS is just as well funded as France's health system but is failing despite this. That argument is clearly a lie. And I conclude you must know this. I tried per capita spending and you didnt like it - so what do you want to use. Or are we just supposed to take your word for it? well I'm not at all surprised you would rather talk about the Tories rather than Labours record but can we stick to the point. Health spending in the UK started to diverge from spending in France in 2008 - so was that because the Labour Party were uniquely bad or because the system in France is better?

I see. ZG, I said... ..."Why you would think I'm frightened of giving my mobile phone number to the NHS is something of a mystery". To which for some reason, you gave the above reply! OK Red I'm happy to be wrong, why don't you want to give the NHS your mobile? Because people today are 'expected' to carry a mobile phone and they are 'expected' to give that number to anyone who asks for it, and incredibly, they do. My private phone number is not an office extension it's a private phone number. As I said previously, the NHS have my postal address and a landline telephone number. As far as I'm concerned, that's enough. As an aside, I'm reminded of an incident that happened before the advent of mobile phones. If you have a moment... I was in the Sqn office and noticed a new list of contact details for married personnel had been published. This list was circulated to all squadrons. As I half heartedly glanced at it I was horrified to see my home phone number. I immediately asked the Chief Clerk, who the hell gave permission for my home phone number, that I pay for, to be published. The CC by the way was a Sgt, at the time I was a Cpl and even though he outranked me I was extremely annoyed. As far as I was concerned this was a massive liberty. I immediately drove into town and at my expense changed my phone number. The following day I told the CC that if the army require my private phone number they can pay the bill. And I found out who gave my phone number to the CC, and although we laugh about it now, he regretted it at the time lol.

Stop dodging, the UK spends £2989 per patient. France spends £3737 per patient. Do you deny this. Lets pretend Labour cut NHS spending. What have the Tories done in the last 13 years. Why is NHS spending per patient only 91% of that in France NOW as in NOW. Your turn. You see in the honesty stakes I don't need to lie. Do you deny this I'm not denying anything - simply asking what method of international comparison do you want to use now that you suddenly don't want to use per-capita spending? Well if you were honest you would answer my question. As you have admitted the 2008 financial crash meant that Labour reduced spending on the NHS whereas France did not - does the method of funding explain this difference?
