What next for Wales?
The United part of the United Kingdom isn’t working for Wales, says Ethan Jones. It’s time we had a different democratic model.
I believe our energies are better utilised in pushing for independence and securing for Wales the powers it needs to thrive, rather than a desperate (albeit well-meaning) attempt to save the union. Neither confederalism or federalism offer a solution. I think the time has come to put our hands up and say; the Union isn’t working. Westminster doesn’t work for Wales. Park it.
Westminster is all about clinging to a past that no longer exists. Independence for Wales is about the future, and the positivity and potential that could be brought about. We’re neither too small nor too poor.
Interesting article from the welsh on independence and disatisfaction with the uk. With current support for welsh independence going up to 33 % tomorrow excluding dont know , which to put it into perspective is where scotland was in 2012 , that not bad at all.

Lord Frost says devolution should be phased out / scrapped. It would take an awful lot of unpicking. Perhaps he has a point. What has it actually improved?

Hopefully, watching devolution is what put most voters off the proposed regional English assemblies.
Nothing wrong in wanting more local accountability and responsibility for all administration. But the ramshackle mishmash and patchwork of different ideas around the UK from police commissioners, through mayors to assemblies, etc, has proved expensive and inefficient...

Wales is a Labour fiefdom with a few, largely English, incomers demanding independence. The result is like that song Myfanwy. Lovely tune full of gentle regrets but not meant to be taken seriously.

Wales isn’t working for the UK
It’s my ancestors fault. We should have driven the fuckers over the cliff into the sea, 300 Spartan’s style
Instead we let the scum swim to Anglesey.
I need to apologise for my ancestor’s failure
Rest assured the mistake will not be made again

Lord Frost says devolution should be phased out / scrapped. It would take an awful lot of unpicking. Perhaps he has a point. What has it actually improved? 75 % of scots voted for devolution. If you scrap devolution , then in my opinion the tories will have another northern ireland situation to deal with only this time it will be in scotland.
Who the fuck is lord frost anyway? Some unelected peer from another country telling the celtic periphery what they should and shouldnt have?
Imagine europe telling the english they should scrap westmsinter?

Plaid Cymru appears to be as equally corrupt and venal as the other celtic devolved nest of criminals. Adam Price has quit as Plaid Cymru leader after a report found misogyny, harassment and bullying in the party. A new leader will be in place in the summer, the party has said in a statement released late on Wednesday night. It follows months of difficulties in Plaid including allegations of a sexual assault and a toxic working culture.Adam Price has quit as Plaid Cymru leader after a report found misogyny, harassment and bullying in the party. If you stay in the southern half of Pembrokeshire this won’t be difficult. For centuries it has been little england beyond wales with tenby given its fishy antonym as a joke. The cottage burners and reservoir bombers don’t appear in any appreciable numbers until you get near the preseli mountains, famed as the hideout of the welsh Elvis It used to be the case that anyone ordering a pint in english on the road to Cardigan from Fishguard was charged more. Grandma taught me enough Welsh to order it im welsh and obtain the locals price but then i realised french and germans got charged that too and my picardy french accent is more realistic than my valleys welsh one

Lord Frost says devolution should be phased out / scrapped. It would take an awful lot of unpicking. Perhaps he has a point. What has it actually improved? Nothing, but that's not the point. All they want is to create hate and division for the foreign powers they naively believes gives a fuck about them. All of this came out of the EU.

Lord Frost says devolution should be phased out / scrapped. It would take an awful lot of unpicking. Perhaps he has a point. What has it actually improved? All of this came out of the EU. you dont know what you are talking about.
It came out of the council of europe , of which your country was a founding member and remains a member.
In the 1993 Memorandum to the Council of Europe we offered to arrange for a delegation of representatives from all of the relevant institutions to meet with the Council to discuss the situation in Scotland. In the end, however, the Council of Europe took the matter further on the strength of the Memorandum alone, and started a series of investigations that exposed the serious shortcomings of the UK's democratic system.
The heat was on the UK by now, and there was no longer any possibility of putting off reform of the Scottish political and administrative structure. This hot potato initially landed on the lap of the Conservative government under Prime Minister John Major, who had no time to do anything about it before he was out of office at the 1997 election. He was no doubt extremely thankful that the matter immediately bounced onto the lap of his Labour successor, Tony Blair, who had had no intention of doing anything about devolution, but was now forced to take action, whether he liked it or not. The lack of serious political opposition to the devolution legislation may seem surprising, but it merely reflects the fact that all the party leaderships at Westminster knew the background and were aware that it was an obligation that could not be avoided.

No, it comes under minority nationalism which has been organised within the EU. It's to break them apart from their host states and isn't limited to the UK. This is why you continue to champion territorial independence within the framework of the EU. This is why you're EUphile and vociferous supporters of the EU. I have no idea why you're referring to devolution when your position is the destruction of the UK to benefit a foreign power.
Even Cornwall has a minority nationalist office. It was recognised by the pro-EU government in 2014 under a European Framework Convention, before the people voted to leave the EU.

Well, Thomas couldn't think of anything at all that devolution has improved, he just went off on one about Lord Frost. Apparently Thomas doesn't know who he is. Shows how insular these Scots are, wherever they live.
