What was disgusting was the barracking in the back benches. Sounded like the last half of the deciding match in the world cup. For a supposedly politically sophisticated country, it was embarrassing.

Indeed Oracle, barracking Tory back benchers are disgusting, while Labour back benchers are hero's one and all. LOL.

The whole lot of them need to go to their offices and write out "i will not shout out when asked to be quiet" 200 times.

There is only two things you can conclude from Starmer..
1. He actually genuinely doesn't realise what a fool he keeps making of himself accusing the Tories of things that his record is far worse.
2. He is so arrogant self-asserting that he believes he's entitled to get away unscathed, and it's his right to do the things that he decries and accuses the Tories of doing.
Personally I think it's the latter.

This might be Labour's weak spot in that at the end of the day, Sir Keir is a bit of a prig

borchester >> "Right now the UK's biggest problem is a labour shortage, which means that anyone who wants a job can have one and that the economy is therefore doing well."
Since 2019 1.3 million Eastern Europeans have left the UK, leaving behind a vacuum.
Most of these people worked in leisure, catering, food processing and the care sectors, and just as the British economy expanded due to a new and ready supply of willing, unskilled labour, it is now going to contract because that supply is drying up.
The UK economy is doing bloody awful, terrible, the worst performing economy of any major industrialised nation, worse than France, Germany, Japan, the United States or Canada.
The present labour shortage is one reason why inflation is so high, and if companies have to increase wage costs in order to attract people, then we give our competitors the edge, and we become uncompetetive.
My local garden centre operates a huge cafe, there were 14 staff there a few weeks ago, today there are just six, and they cannot find people. The operation of the cafe is badly affected, it operates a limited menu, and on some days they cannot do any hot food at all.
I agree that its good for anyone looking for a job - but with the cost of living crisis and food inflation now at its highest level since 1977, having lots of jobs available is not really any help.

Starmer is a bell end everyone knows it, and to vote for him in protest to the Tories is like cutting off your nose to spite your face, he's a walking disaster, can you imagine what he's really got planned if he becomes leader, we're already getting a taste of it now, once he gets those keys there will be no stopping the crazed lunatic. Indeed. At PMQ's Sunak takes Starmer to pieces because of his past. He has a long history of being very left wing, very pro EU and very pro mass immigration and the Tories are bound to make the most of it. Starmer is doing his best to cancel his own history. As a young man he edited a Marxist magazine, he was a member of the Haldane Society of Socialist Lawyers, he was 100% behind Corbyn's hard left policies and no one faught harder than he did to overturn the result of the referendum and keep us in the EU. And no one is trying to forget all that, more than Starmer is. OH! so more lies, insinuations distortions of the 'The Sun' truth, only the mindless already fooled would fall for this tripe over and over again. Murdoch bought the 'working mans' newspaper back in 1969, and started his work on fooling non-Tory voters into voting Conservative. His deceitfulness has just cost Fox News $787, 500, 000. One might have thought that the penny might have dropped for the right-wing purveyors of lies, insinuations and distortions of the truth. But it seems the Tory approach is far too lucrative in terms of keeping the already converted on side. The day UK politics becomes reasonably honest is the day the UK might escape from the mindless overrated Conservative approach, for the benefit of everyone INCLUDING THE CONSERVATIVE PARTY.

He is what i remember to be an adult responsible dignified experienced politician. Unlike what is preferred now, entertainers and grinning game players. At least Starmer will properly represent the democratic will of the people.

What the bloody hell are you waffling on about now? For goodness sake calm down dear. I care not a jot about the 'The Sun', never have. And trust me as far as the money goes $787 million is peanuts to someone of Murdoch's wealth. As an aside, Mrs R and I have just filled our our postal voting papers. Yes indeed another two votes for the Conservative candidate, I knew you'd be thrilled lol.

Starmer, who you reckon "properly represents the democratic will of the people", spent three years fighting to overturn the biggest democratic vote in British history. The man is a Marxist, he has been an authoritarian lefty since his student days, although he would rather you forget about his past.

You are a good example of the very reason the UK has continued to be in a mess under the highly overrated Conservatives ever since 1951. I am saddened by the arrogant stupidity of your, just ignore the reality, post.

He had every right to fight against the mindless result of the referendum taken at a time when the UK was suffering so many underlying weaknesses. But that is all water under the bridge now, and he has accepted, like myself, that Brexit is done. Well all but.

Exactly, you do not address or even acknowledge sensible comments that could actually open up your mind to the reality of politics, you choose to meander along in a mental mist of Tory propaganda. Clearly unable to see any further than you want to see.
