800 word article on how Brexit is to blame for our floundering economy - the only thing missing is anything that actually shows that to be true.. I suppose we shouldn't be surprised as the poor old dear only has a degree in English Literature and apparently knows nothing about economics.. Too early to pass judgement? Let's give Sunak another term or let Starmer in to try and polish the turd. Well it must be too early if you cannot find any examples to fill 800 words..

Leading Brexit tricksters want us to stop being divisive and a nuisance. Can’t do that. Voters were lied to. Some wanted to be lied to, so consumed were they with the idea that the EU was encroaching on Britishness. Some were racists and hoped that after the vote the nation would go all white. Some wanted jobs to be done by true Brits. We now know that natives don’t want to do those jobs. A good number of leavers were imperial nostalgics and now find those times are gone. This is the kind of shit that some ex remainers spouted before and after Brexit . How on Earth this stupid cow has convinced herself or other like minded imbeciles that some leavers had an agenda to expel all non whites is beyond understanding. It’s college bar politics . It is reasonable to say that some leave voters were racists who wanted an all-white UK. To say that that is beyond understanding smacks of self-denial. It’s reasonable to say that some remainers were wife abusers and paedophiles but it would be crass , stupid and dishonest to allude to it as being a trait of remainers .

Some people sometimes say something they don't mean. Yasmin A-B, Lizzie T, Boris J, et al. And look at Brexiteers who have become Bregreters. I would, but I've never actually met one. I'm not saying there are not any, because anyone can change their mind, even liars and perverts do it all the time. I might even do it myself, but I've never met a Bregreter, and I'm certainly not apologising. You really are a one trick pony, aren't you? So you've never met a Bregeter but you must have, at least, heard of Truss and Johnson. Then why say that Alibhai-Brown can not be trusted for changing her mind when you accept that anyone can change their mind -- including yourself? You or Lizzie Truss can change her mind but not the writer -- now, that is double standards! It's alright, you may keep your apology. Lock it in a box and throw away the key.

It would not be crass, stupid or dishonest to allude to it as being a trait of some remainers. Neither would it be crass, stupid and dishonest to allude to it as being a trait of some leavers. What's crass, stupid and dishonest is to dismiss the opinions and political conviction of an actor because he was caught getting a BJ in a rented car in Beverly Hills over 25 years ago.

I don’t think that it’s crass , stupid or dishonest to dismiss the opinion of an over paid posh boy who makes a living out of pretending to be someone else tbh.

But currently the UK haas a low unemoloyment rate and aa large vacancy rate and many employees have at least two jobs. Are you happy to work the souls off people as long as they are white anglo saxon? If the vacancies were taken by migrants then they wouldn’t have a chance to earn more . Low unemployment rates and large vacancy rates mean more competition from employers and higher wages anyway. The reason why we have vacancies is because the local workforce -- for whatever reason -- do not fill the vacancies. So, if vacancies were not taken by migrants then who would? What do you propose then -- we shut out migrants from, say, Eastern Europe and wait for local single mothers, benefit abusers and border-line retirees -- any local willing to work -- to decide to take up jobs as brick layers, back hoe operators, waiters, servers, nurses, etc. while we force businesses to eat extra labour costs of over priced local workers?

Not. Forthcoming. "They" still "don't know" Brexit is to blame. It's too early to tell. "They" want to give it more time and opportunity to redeem itself. inews.co.uk/opinion/now-we-know-brexit-is-to-blame-for-our-floundering-economy-any-chance-of-an-apology-2236289?ico=most_popularNow we know Brexit is to blame for our floundering economy. Any chance of an apology?
Yasmin Alibhai-Brown...Talked about Brexit being shite. Talked about how we need a grown-up conversation about rejoining.” Ferrari exclaimed “For the love of God!” as he imagined going through another referendum.
The next day, on the same show, I wholly backed Purkiss. Ferrari turned as pink as his shirt; so too the other panellist, Quentin Letts, a man with blind faith in Brexit, also in a pink shirt.
Neither could quite believe we remainers have the effrontery to publicly express such profane views. Some callers backed me, while others tediously restated clichés about “the will of the people”. Lest you forget, 51.9 per cent voted out, 48.1 per cent voted in. “The people” can get mightily irate when “losers” speak up. But speak up we must.
Brexit has ruined the country, as actor Hugh Grant boldly stated last week on an American TV programme. An unholy alliance was formed between Brexit movers and shakers and patently biased media organisations. By May 2019, Nigel Farage had been invited to sound off on Question Time 32 times. The BBC became a free publicist for this grim influencer who ended up controlling the narrative and pulling the two main parties into his orbit.
Remainers could not speak freely for fear of social media bullies; media organisations were alarmingly unbalanced in their coverage; and articulate remainers were marginalised.
One ex-booker for BBC political shows told me himself that they’d been instructed to give most airtime to “Brexit dogmatists like Brendon O’Neill and Melanie Phillips”. O’Neill, who runs Spiked, a libertarian internet magazine, also routinely accused remainers of being “undemocratic”. Voters were not only lied to by Brexit politicians, they were doped and duped by our press and broadcasters.
Fundamentalist Brexiteers will never be swayed, but increasing numbers of Brexiteers are becoming aware of what happened back then. A poll by Ipsos in February found that 60 per cent of British voters think the UK is heading in the wrong direction, compared to just 18 per cent who think the opposite. This month, according to the poll company Statista, 53 per cent of voters think leaving the EU was wrong, while 33 per cent believe it was the right decision.
An old Ugandan Asian friend voted leave. She is disabled. Her carer, a Polish woman, went back to Poland. She has no replacement. Labour shortages in the health and care sectors are growing. She is now a Bregreter.
This Sunday, Richard Hughes, of the Office for Budget Responsibility, told the BBC’s Laura Kuenssberg that Brexit’s impact on the economy was as grave as that of the pandemic and warned our overall output would be down by around 4 per cent compared to what it would have been, had we remained in the EU. Why, even Google’s AI chatbot has concluded: “Brexit was a bad idea… I believe the UK would have been better off remaining in the EU”. It is now denounced as “wokeist” and a breacher of electoral laws. Funny yes, but it’s no laughing matter.
I ask committed Brexiteers to think about why they made that choice. Some objected to EU migrant workers. Did Boris Johnson, Michael Gove, Dominic Cummings et al ever tell them non-EU workers would “flood” in? ONS figures show that net migration figures, excluding those in small boats, are the highest since it began collecting migration statistics in 1964. I welcome the new incomers. But do Brexiteers?
Next indictment: Sunak and Starmer are tossing around promises of a high growth economy, but don’t say how the nation will dig itself out of the current deep economic abyss. The BBC website states that “the rest of the G7 countries have seen trade, when compared to the size of their economies, bounce back in a way that hasn’t happened in the UK”.
Next, to the biggest drop in living standards since 1956. The incisive BBC TV interviewer Victoria Derbyshire asked John Glen, the Chief Secretary to the Treasury, whether Brexiteers had “voted to be poor”? He had no answer. A nationwide, EU funded Back to Work scheme has just ended. The UK’s replacement is costing £2.6bn. Was this ever mentioned by the bad boys of Brexit?
Leading Brexit tricksters want us to stop being divisive and a nuisance. Can’t do that. Voters were lied to. Some wanted to be lied to, so consumed were they with the idea that the EU was encroaching on Britishness. Some were racists and hoped that after the vote the nation would go all white. Some wanted jobs to be done by true Brits. We now know that natives don’t want to do those jobs. A good number of leavers were imperial nostalgics and now find those times are gone.
Older Britons got us into this mess. Younger generations will one day go back into the EU. Alas, I will be dead by then, still seething about the wounds to our nation, to social cohesion, to internationalism and openness caused by this political self-violation. We told them so. They did not listen. Perhaps they’ll listen now.

You subscribe to and promote the idea that there were no racist leave voters so I expect you to believe that Hugh Grant is posh.

What you would have understood is that I claim that it is crass, stupid and dishonest to allude there was enough of them to represent leavers as a group. ” Yes it was mine . I stand by it . Just how many people voted to leave the EU in an attempt to expel ALL non whites from the UK. Even the most stupid lefties must realise that near enough all of the migrants from the EU were white .

What you're saying is that you will never understand (never accept, maybe?) that some leavers had racist and all-white-UK agenda. You subscribe to it, otherwise, you wouldn't have said it. You promote it, otherwise, you wouldn't double down on it. Looks like you have never encountered or heard of English people whose idea of "white" is exclusive to the Northern, Western European and Nordic variety. Don't you remember that Griffin guy who was proposing to pay non white immigrants £50K each to go back to their native lands? Obviously, it was too much even for the BNP.

Gnome, are you black or white? A rhetorical question perhaps, but before I continue and for the sake of accuracy I thought I'd ask. Of course you are under no obligation to confirm, or deny.

I have nothing to apologise for.
I hope those who are arrogant enough to believe they are somehow owed an apology are holding their breath.

You'd have to be very stupid to pay more to join a "free trade" bloc than the tariffs that would be applied if you traded with it via WTO rules. Especially when they require you to subjugate your own laws to their laws and raise swingeing protective tariffs against all nations that are not part of the trade bloc - and that includes most of the fastest developing nations in the world.
As I've said before it did make some sense many decades ago to be part of the Common Market because we did most of our trade with Europe and international tariffs were very high - and membership costs were relatively low. As international tariffs dropped, EU membership costs rose and the "baggage" of being a n EU member became intolerable it gradually became a liability that we had to ditch at some point. The reality is that it changed from a trading bloc to a European superstate that threatens the peace of Europe and the economy of Europe. The imposition of the single currency was the last nail in its coffin.
And Ms Alibi Brown is one of the most stupid people in the world. Anyone who takes instruction from her is an imbecile.

Well it must be too early if you cannot find any examples to fill 800 words.. You need examples -- even at this stage. Well if you are going to the effort of writing 800 words alleging something it might be good to put some actual evidence in there.. But if the Indy is prepared to pay her for 800 words of fluff thats up to them..
