This is the latest from the DM. Endgame looms for Truss... but who would take over? PM summons Tory 1922 chief Graham Brady to No10 after Tories bombard him with no-confidence letters - as MPs split between Hunt, Sunak, Mordaunt and a comeback for Boris Johnson Utter chaos was seen in the House of Commons division lobbies last night as Tories rowed over crunch vote Suella Braverman quit as Home Secretary admitting protocol breach by sending email on immigration policy Liz Truss told the Commons yesterday: 'I am a fighter not a quitter' as she faced Starmer in a fierce PMQs A senior Cabinet member and ally to Liz Truss said last night 'she can't recover from this' amid party anger Confusion reigned for three hours last night as it was unclear whether Chief Whip and Deputy had resigned www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-11335257/Even-Cabinet-loyalists-warn-Liz-Truss-recover-PM.html#comments

They have no choice but to bring back Boris, he was elected 'by the people', it's clear the public are better at choosing leaders than Tories.
If Boris is not reinstated as Prime Minister then we should have a General Election, Boris was voted in by the public, and we have been denied our democratic vote, Truss was not voted in by the public. Now the Tories must instate the people's choice, we DO NOT want the Tories voting in another leader.

Chairman of the Conservative Back Bench 1922 Committee seen going into No.10. Could this be it…? Apparently, Truss requested the meeting. As far as getting rid of her, unless she voluntarily resigns I don't see how that could be achieved. 1922 committee rules say a new prime minister has a 12 month period of grace before letters of no confidence have any effect, and so far she has insisted she will not resign. But we'll see, after the past few months nothing will surprise me. Going off on a tangent briefly, many people are saying bring back Boris but I have to say, what makes people think he would want to come back? If he has any sense he will keep his head down and stay on the back benches.

The 1922 Committee can make its own rules.
Problem is, Johnson's ego is bigger than his sense...

Problem is, Johnson's ego is bigger than his sense... Now he knows who the backstabbers are, and who can't be trusted, he's in a better position to pick out the right people for the job, no one likes a backstabber, and no one likes 'work colleagues' they can't trust, we've seen what they'll do to get top job, Boris knows who they are, once bitten twice shy. At least he knew where he stood with Starmer, but he didn't expect it from his own.

Mail+ poll suggests 72% of readers want Boris Johnson to return to lead Tories
More than 7,800 readers voted in a Mail+ poll on the PM if Liz Truss is ousted And the former Prime Minister Boris Johnson took 72 per cent of the vote The next most popular candidate was ex-Chancellor Rishi Sunak on 9 per cent

Yes indeed, I don't doubt any of that Jonksy, but would Boris want to come back? He is currently earning £100,000 a speech on the after dinner speaking circuit. Personally, I doubt he will return to front line politics 'yet', he knows whoever takes over from Liz Truss will likely be stepping into dead man's shoes. I think he may return at some point, but not in the near future.

For me Boris has no way back in the short term, he is a liability.
Good for shouting about Brexit no good keeping a straight face when he needs to.
