Leadership contest to elect a new PM within a week.
Candidates
Rishi Sunak (favourite) Penny Mourdant Ben Wallace Boris (lol)
I believe after they are elected are Tory leader and appointed PM. There should be an immediate General election.
They can then make their case to the country during the GE campaign.

Apparently, Truss requested the meeting. As far as getting rid of her, unless she voluntarily resigns I don't see how that could be achieved. 1922 committee rules say a new prime minister has a 12 month period of grace before letters of no confidence have any effect, and so far she has insisted she will not resign. But we'll see, after the past few months nothing will surprise me. Going off on a tangent briefly, many people are saying bring back Boris but I have to say, what makes people think he would want to come back? If he has any sense he will keep his head down and stay on the back benches. If he had any sense he would never have gone into politics. he's lousy at it. He was elected mayor of London twice. Elected as an MP and served as foreign secretary and prime minister. So clearly, he's not ' that' lousy at it.

Time the famous black door of No 10 was removed and a revolving door fitted, and Velcro wallpaper in the PM's flat LOL....Maybe No 10's cat would be a better choice.

First obstacle overcome. Now — before delving back over the utter shambles of the rise and fall of Liz Truss — we have to hope the parliamentary party can now choose and unite behind a capable personality the public can regard as a Prime Minister... Thats the problem, the public don't get a say in this circus, democracy my arse, and the strong arm tactics in the commons by Tory thugs looked more like a Hitler rally at a Munich beer hall in 1938.

The only one that would have a vague chance of uniting the Tories is Ben Wallace - which probably means he will not win.

I suspect the only one who stands a chance of being a unanimous choice would be someone who’s not poked their head above the parapet yet and not voiced any strong opinions to upset anyone. But by Christ I hope that’s not the case…
