Brexit Britain win as world's second-biggest fund manager snubs EUSSR to open next UK office Brexit Britain has scored a huge win with Vanguard, the world's second largest fund manager, reportedly snubbing the European Union with plans to open its second UK office - a move that will create 100 jobs. The US fund manager, which manages £6trillion globally, will announce plans to open a new base in Manchester, according to a report from The Daily Telegraph, citing City sources. Vanguard will reportedly lease 14,000 square feet in the Landmark development in St Peter's Square in the centre of the UK's second-biggest city by population. It is expected the opening of the office will create around 100 jobs, raising the company's footprint in the UK to 900 people. The fund manager employs around 20,ooo people globally but on the Continent, it has a tiny fraction of that with just 200 staff. It is a major blow to EU countries, who over the past few years, have been trying to take advantage of Brexit by encouraging multinational financial companies to grow their business on the Continent. In addition, the Covid pandemic from 2020 has since seen large financial institutions reducing their office space as workers adopt remote working practices. link

Nigel's dream was the only one that counted? - who decided that? The Brexiters. But I just pointed out that other Brexiteers had differing views. It seems that you have invented this characterization in your mind of those that voted to leave and are intent to push it in the face of all evidence to the contrary.. rather bizarre..

Nigel Farage the founder of UKIP. The party that forced the referendum. By persuading the public the EU was undemocratic and we could do better without them.
Is your memory really that short.

No he wasn't the founder of UKIP, just its only influential leader of it Look up Alan Sked who started it and resigned when the BNPesque element infiltrated it

Short of what? Seems that you dont have much of a memory because I can remember the campaign to leave the EU before UKIP was ever conceived - have you never heard of politicians like Tony Benn and Michael Foot?. For your education..

Some things do not change. If you look carefully at the poster he is standing in front of in 2016 and the group of 'refugees' consists almost entirely of young men. If this is a group of refugees fleeing from danger to a place of safety where are the women, the babes in arms, the elderly. Contrast that with any group of refugees in Europe in WW2 and it is almost wholly, women, babes in arms and the elderly; the men folk are facing the danger the refugees are fleeing from. This makes a nonsense of the whole situation and has been so for the best part of a decade. The contrast was made as regards lines of Jewish refugees arriving in Germany but they were families on the move.

For your education.. I hope the remnants took note that the EUSSR was reffered too as the COMMON MARKET at that time......And of course Jenkins was using the same arquements then as the remnants are using today. And those very same arquements have never and presently stand up to scrutiny.
