I’m hesitant to get stuck in but one blindingly obvious point i would make is MY neck if the woods has been an awesome place to have a dry dock courtesy of the second highest tidal range on the fucking planet LITERALLY outside my back door and about thirty MILES of the deepest natural seawater inlet in the UK about two hours drive west, which was used as a naval and air base in WW2 becausebit was beyond almost all the bombers.
Why the fuck they build yards to make these things in the north where natural facilities are inferior beats me

The International Financial Meltdown that destroyed all the previous economic planning is what turned PFIs into an economic disaster, but one needs to be more honest than biased in order to acknowledge that fact. True comment is not waffle. I was going to make a comment about 'Made in Scotland' but chose to mention PFIs instead, I should have commented on both. how many times , by differing posters on this forum , have you had your arse handed to you on a plate regarding the disaster that was labours uk wide PFI debacles?
Still you waffle on about it not being a s bad as people think , despite the evidence thrown at you , or you blame the financial crash , where PFI debt was being accumulated long before that happened.
A wiser head would have kept schtum , but not the new labour daftys.
I didn't dispute it is bad, I just gave you the HONEST comment that it was bad, and the HONEST reason why it turned out so badly. How much longer are you going to dishonestly deny the economic problem was caused by the international financial meltdown. STOP ALLOWING YOUR POLITICAL BIAS TO MAKE A LIAR OF YOU.

Considering the state of HMS Prince of Wales, the Scots have clearly forgotten how to build ships. All of our future warships should be built in Wales or England

You allow your bias to make a liar of you, and that's what I call silly.

I'm not interested in biscuits and sporrans. Pity your government didnt feel the same.
Thay're not my government, they're the government of the dolts that elect them. I don't read ther Scottish thread but suspect it would be well lit up if the news of resignations and lies about member numbers have hit the headlines.

How much longer are you going to dishonestly deny the economic problem was caused by the international financial meltdown. The labour party administration was kicked out of the scottish parliament in 2007. Most of the PFI deals were done prior to then. The financial crash was in 2008. So what are you talking about fibber?
This documentary starts a little slowly, but becomes an eye-opening case study of how Labour steamrollered through crippling PFI contracts to build public infrastructure on the never-never when they ran the Scottish Executive from 1999-2007.

Kick PFIs all you want, in fact I'll join you, just try putting the partial financial failure (hospitals still needed to be built) where it belongs, i.e. with the meltdown that threw all financial planning out of the window. If you continue to ignore the INTERNATIONAL FINANCIAL MELTDOWN that means you are allowing your bias to control your thoughts.

How did the 'INTERNATIONAL FINANCIAL MELTDOWN' make the taxpayer end up with a £10 Billion bill for hospitals that only cost £2 Billion? Specifically what part of the 'meltdown' made the cost increase by such an amount?

The mystery of the 2008 financial crash being responsible for PFI deals 1999 - 2007 in labour party la la land deepens.
