en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Murder_of_Banaz_MahmodBanaz Mahmod was murdered by her own father. Payzee Mahmod and Bekhal Mahmod have called for the changes in the law to protect other girls from the situation her father forced upon her. Lets debate this. What can we do to protect teenage girls and grown women from 'honour' killings?

It may help if those who come to our shores accepted our laws and ideals rather than expect us to change to theirs...How we acheive that is another matter all-together with the swamp we have at the present.

Cultural relativism was the biggest mistake any government has made since appeasement of Nazi Germany in the 1930s. I wonder how many girls are dead / living in slavery because of it.

Assuming religious schools are banned buy law, and the law is enforced (lol) Then minorities must be told in no uncertain terms that they will continue to be welcome in this country if they integrate. It should be made absolutely crystal clear to Muslims, Jews, Hindu's, Buddhists, Eskimo's, Martians, etc etc that if you choose to live in the UK you accept the way we do things which includes accepting UK law. If you don't like the idea, then you don't come here, or you leave.

And there I was thinking you’d got it right, ban all religious schools and let those who wish to be educated or not on religious matters. Some of the best schools? Schools should educate to the best whatever your background.

I went to a Church of England school, we had one 30 minute period of 'religious education' per week which was generally seen as a skive. Yes we mumbled our way through the Lords Prayer each morning in assembly, but it didn't mean anything to anyone. The school wasn't remotely religious, and that was good. Religion should be kept out of education. Children should not be brainwashed by adults who belive in a god. If adults for whatever reason want to worship a god that's fine, but kids should be allowed to make their own minds up, when they are old enough.

Now that I do agree with, have extended family both catholic and Protestant can’t say either involvement in schools any advantage just as trying to fill kids heads with the ideas of trans this or that and other stuff is. They need to be taught tolerance of others sensibly and be left to make their minds up as they mature.

I'm not talking about catholic & protestant, thanks to that fat bastard Henry the 8th or VIII if you prefer the Latin, that's our historic problem it's got nothing to do with anyone else, including the Yanks. But we should not allow minorities to have their own schools in this country. As I said up the page, kids in this country should not be brainwashed with religion.

The church in this country invented education for the masses. You say you don't believe in god, but you realise the alternative is wokism. Why not ask yourself why church schools outperform state run schools. Christians would contend they are blessed. I went to one myself and it was good. It too was far ahead of the national average. The teachers cared about the kids. The one I went to was a junior school and that GCSE maths paper we were looking at was easier than the questions we had in junior school. That's the price you pay for secularism. The country is fucked.

BvL, how many YouTube videos do you think I could provide, by clever people, who say religion is not a force for good, quite the opposite in fact. Religion is a force for evil, it brainwashes the ignorant which is why kids must be indoctrinated before they get old enough to make up ther own mind. See Madrassa, or Yeshiva. You say, and I can hardly say this without laughing, that the alternative to god, is woke. I'm at a loss to understand what you're talking about. I am not in the slightest religious, you think that makes me woke?

I went to a C of E junior school which, like many others, came under control of the county council and had no absurd connection to the church which happened to be next door. I went to two different Sunday schools, neither of the C of E because that church did not run a Sunday school. At grammar school I withdrew from morning assembly having become an atheist; I recommend it.

The early church in this country presented the christian religion in Latin, which the vast number of uneducated people never understood.
