Just heard that Boris is in the Caribbean, but when he heard Truss had resigned, he was on the first plane back to London. Hopefully a private jet, just to piss the green lobby of a bit more. I doubt it. His reintroduction as pm would surely be the last nail in the Tory coffin. I've been half listening to a debate about Boris's chances. Apparently his odds are 3 to 1 at the moment, but it seems the 1922 committee have rigged it to ensure that Boris is unlikely to get the minimum 100 votes required to be entered onto the ballot. But it's not a forgone conclusion, a 'bring back Boris campaign' is already underway lol.

You're still talking bollocks. As it happens jaydee and I and very pally on here and have been for ages. I have the utmost respect for him because you lot can't ever prove him wrong factually and can only hurl abuse. At this rate I can see Morgan asking JD if he would like to get a room, lol. I wonder which one will pay for it? LOL

I understand the meaning of the word Mags. I just don’t see how you can use it in the context Mr Rackham did

Run me through “rigged” please Well, it seems the front runners are Penny Mordaunt, Rishi Sunak and Ben Wallace. The 1922 committee have decided they must each get 100 votes to have their names entered on the ballot. If as expected they do get the required number of votes, there won't be enough votes left for another name on the ballot. The conservative party chairman Jake Berry and Sir Graham Brady were this afternoon asked if this arrangement was to keep Boris off the ballot, and they both declined to answer.

The only candidate pretty much guaranteed to get 100 nominations in the first round is Sunak - if none of the other candidates breach that barrier he could be annointed Leader by Monday night.

It will be a bad joke if Bojo comes back, one dodgy question he can't answer honestly and it is curtains again for him and the country.

If by any chance Boris did return, the same old flack and crap would just be thrown at him again, just as Truss had to endure it by Labour and some within the Tory Party again

There is an electorate of 370. How would you suggest someone who can’t get the support of even 100 of them could possibly win?

Quite so. And it wouldn't surprise me if had been arranged that Sunak will be the only candidate to get 100 votes. That's how desperate they are to get him into number 10.

If I heard right on the News a candidate will have to poll as least 50 votes to be considered to speed up the selection from the Tory MP's Party Members will not be involved in the vote

To be honest I doubt Boris will make it onto the ballot, which will come as a huge relief to Starmer. He would much sooner face Sunak across the despatch box than Boris, or Mordaunt for that matter.
