There is no formal EU constitution. There is the Lisbon Treaty (which I have read). The way things were I'm afraid are not good enough for me or the UK. Read the 2016 referendum vote if you don't understand (we triggered Article 50 of the Lisbon Treaty). We're out. I don't care what you call it. guides.law.columbia.edu/c.php?g=1221803&p=9087251#:~:text=The%20Draft%20Constitution%20was%20completed,state%20on%20October%2029%2C%202004. Nor am I getting into a pointless argument with you. If you choose to spend your singular life believing lies, I am sure the vast number of those knowing the truth will trample you without even knowing you are there. Frankly I don't care what you believe any more than I care if you believe there are still dinosaurs somewhere. You can talk to me. I know the EU is no more democratic than the British government, the town council, the district council or my parish council. The town council and the parish council haven't had an election for at least ten years.

She was elected behind closed doors and not ONE single person of the odd 400 million who make up the EUSSR populance had a single say. Please define representative democracy. If it works for cabinet appointments, supreme Court judges, all other judges and ambassadors, it works in the EU By the way have you never voted for your MEP? Or just stood about wondering what was going on? We are not on about MEP's who have as much clout as a bloody bowl of custard....Maybe you could enlighten us all how the likes of von-de-liard can be removed by any actions of ordinary citezens in the EUSSR who make up the 400 odd million who these parasites control?

Missing the point Kim. I read the treaty, don't like the way the EU is run, or its policies. I voted leave. The UK left.
Don't treat us like naughty school children, you're not our teacher.

It only works in your head, you don't even know the candidates in most cases and even when you think you do, they will change to suit the whims of the upper echelons and then you'll know even less about them other than maybe what's written on an A5 sheet of paper telling you for instance the candidate is married, has two kids, is a member of some charity and went to St. Swithins college where he got a degree in sociology.

What a surprise, Gnome starts anew Brexit thread rather than either inserting it into an existing thread or just shutting up. It's a valid topic for a new thread. There's plenty of other threads in which it would have fitted but then I suppose a europhile would want to see as many anti-EU threads as possible.

God knows you need one. I can stomach opinions but straight up blatant ignorance and stupidity is not one of them. AND STOP CALLING ME BY SOMEONE ELSE'S NAME. I don't know who she or he is but why do you think they wouldn't support the same thing as 16 million other people who saw through the lies you swallowed? And frankly if they came across you why on earth would they volunteer to be in the same place as you are? It would ruin anyone's day. I worked for a private translator agency and did work for the EU. What are your qualifications?

You sound exactly like Kim and react like Kim and miss the point just like Kim.
Even more glad we're out of the EU now, you've made my day.

Been through college, also been through the Open University twice. But how is that relevant to this conversation?
We're discussing the new Northern Ireland protocol and our vote to leave the EU, not me.
The public have no means to sack the Commission or steer policy in the EU. The policies of the EU do not work for me or for the UK. We voted leave. 17.41 million people voted leave and most of the 16.1 million accepted the result without turning into frothing crazies.
If you cannot handle democracy go and visit a professional who can help you.

im not rubbishing anything. Dont shoot the messenger pacifico , because the DUP tell you it doesnt meet their tests , and both northern irish and many british unionists are deeply unhappy about it. Richard tice and reform are slating it as a BRINO deal.
Like i said , we will see the meat being put o nthe bones in the coming days , but i suspect sunak is going to get severe grief.
Tory party pr stunt nothing more. Northern ireland remains european.
Well we are all European thomas... The DUP objections are well known and it is doubtful whether anything short of a no-deal exit would have totally satisfied them. However it seems to be this is about as good as it gets - ironically if the Brake idea had been available to the UK in Camerons renegotiation it is highly unlikely we would have left the EU in the first place. From a trade perspective the agreement has ensured that practically every business in the UK is now a 'trusted trader' and can ship goods to NI without hindrance, which is a massive improvement on the Protocol and its good that the EU was willing to move that far. Pacifico , you are normally one of the more articulate tory brexiters , but regarding rishi the remainers dodgy BRINO deal , you are starting to sound like the tory supporters version of they german propagandists who were broadcasting to the people in 1945 the germans were winning the war as the red army scaled the reichstag.
Its laughable listening to it.
Lets apply brexiter red lines to rishis BRINO deal.
Do the british in northern ireland have european citizenship? yes or no? Answer.......yes. Rishis deal is BRINO.
Do the british in northern ireland have european passports? Yes or no? Answer.......yes. Rishis deal is BRINO.
Do the british in northern ireland have freedom of movement with the EU Yes or no? Answer....yes .Rishis deal is BRINO.
Do the british in northern ireland come under the jurisdiction of EU courts Yes or no Answer......yes. Rishis deal is BRINO.
I mean i could go on but dont have the time this morning. The tories were a remain party until 2017 , when many of them decided to jump ship and join the brexiter bandwagon for convenience. Now they are jumping back the other way as the writing is on the wall .
Sunak is a fucking clown of the highest order who makes starmer look good. He was part of the team that championed the oven ready deal and original NIP as the greatest negotiation in world history. Now , he tells us that was shite , and he has negotiated a new best deal ever , which amounts to sausages for the 6 counties , and no tomatoes for englandshire.
Its hilarious listening to it , and i suspect he is going to be hammered at the next election because he is basically pissing everyone everywhere off , the out of touch twat that he is.
Keep polishing that turd pacifico. We can see the grand scheme of things , who is the daddy and who is the subservient begger in these negotiations.

Sorry Tom - but pretty much all of that is factually untrue..
Can I suggest you actually read what the agreement is rather than what the National tells you it is.
