How about discussing what I said, was the £ overvalued? Of course it wasn't, the spot value at any one time reflects what smarter and larger money than you or I and many others think of the UK's viability to be a serious trading nation. If they think it isn't they sell the £ down t a level they think we can cope with leaving Brits to swallow the inflation devaluation always produces. The £ fell in value from late 2014 as the smart money realised there was an ever increasing possibility and finally a certainty that we'd leave and harm the UK. £;$ history
Now compare it to the euro where it held or was higher than our initial rate for 6/7 years at around 1.50 euros/£, since when it has been lower. At one time it was close to parity.

Another example of how the EU are knobbling Northern Ireland and indeed the UK.
The EU say a farmer in Northern Ireland can quite freely take his livestock to market in England if he chooses. Nice of them. If however he fails to get a decent price for his animals the EU say he cannot take them back to Northern Ireland which lets not forget is part of the UK, until the animals have spent six months in quarantine in GB. And Sunak has apparently signed up to it.
The more this deal, this so called Windsor Framework is scrutinised, the more it becomes obvious why Sunak is determined to ram it through without the support of the ERG, DUP or many Tory back benchers. This deal is slowly being exposed as just another pro EU smokescreen which is designed to look good as long as the small print isn't inspected too closely.

Surely there must be a more obscure anomaly than this 🤣

It's just been revealed that contrary to what Sunak has said, Northern Ireland may only raise concerns about adopting EU law in "very exceptional circumstances". And even then, the hoops they have to jump through are not insignificant. And that's before any concern gets to London, let alone Belgium.
Sunak is right, his team and the EU have indeed worked very hard on this deal. Duplicitous bastards.

And? We had to bide our time for 40 years knowing we had been conned into joining the EUSSR....Funny how you remnants were content not to mention that fact or to reject democrocy tho isn't it? You didn't have to wait, no one made you wait. Really? We only had the REF in 2016 because cameron was belittled by the EUSSR. And even he thought we would all vote remain....Oh dear that went well for him didn't it?

That was 40 years later, you could have voted for a government in favour of leaving at anytime in that period. Just as you are suggesting we remainers do now. Oh, and Cameron was not belittled by the EU, they met all his demands with positive suggestions.

ZG, Northern Ireland is one of four countries that make up the UK. Why should EU law apply in the UK? This may well be Sunaks downfall, I didn't think much of him before this, but I think a damned sight less of him now.

Some of the reports coming to light are that Sunak (which many stated beforehand), has overstated the concessions he got from the EU, and this is being contradicted by EU documents.
Whatever happens now, the government will run with this deal claiming victory - but the road ahead will bring obstacles as the Protocol has always done. When this happens, the cycle of stand-offs will recommence.

Indeed, it was mentioned a couple of hours ago that documents being released to journalists in Brussels, contradict what Sunak has been saying in several interviews today. The wheels are comming off this so called deal by the hour. I cant wait to hear what ERG and DUP lawyers make of it.

Well that is nonsense. If you want a vote on joining the EU vote for a party promising you a vote on joining the EU - which is precisely what enough people did to force a referendum in the first place. If you only vote for parties who are unwilling to allow a vote you only have yourself to blame. I would just point out that we have had 2 General Elections since the referendum vote. If that's true, how come you had to have a referendum. because enough people voted for it.. ..it used to be called democracy.

Reading what Sunak has claimed and the EU say, I'd be content with the DUP's position either way. After all it effects them more than it does me, and who am I to say the DUP should be ignored. They are most loyally British, more than anyone else and ultimately if they don't like it they will block Stormont from sitting and I'd agree with whatever decision they make. Just think, if it wasn't for them this Protocol wouldn't have been improved already. They're doing what the British government should have done with the EU long ago - playing hardball and rightly so IMO. You watch the media try and grind them down though if they don't roll over and have their tummies tickled, in order to lose support and sympathy from voters in N.Ireland.
