So what? It takes so long for the WTO to make a decision it is well too late What you need in a trade dispute is the ability to retaliate and the EU has that muscle, we don't being only a fraction of its market for US goods. Just look who the USA always settles with first

The EU has no extra muscle at the WTO it is just another body. Albeit a slightly schizophrenic and self conflicting body.
Everyone is equal in trade disputes at the WTO.
And as you've seen before, we sell far more to the USA than they sell us. We have more muscle than some realise.

Vinny it's not about muscle at the WTO, this was explained to you It's about muscle to get a fair position while the WTO takes a decade to resolve the case. We don't have it, the EU does

Another issue that Jonksy doesn't understand ^ That USA probably WTO breaching move is bad news for the UK too. We just don't have the muscle to try and do anything about it thanks to Brexit That is why a single country can't ever compete for a foot in the door and has to play the cards dealt by others. And what makes a mockery of any idea of real sovereignty. It is quite sad to see a grown-up spending all his days searching for things to justify something that happened 6 years ago. In fact it seems to be an obsession that needs attention. Finally, somebody said it! "Real sovereignty"; "Real independence". The principles of sovereignty and independence and democracy that have real-world meaning -- substantive, applicable, relatable, almost visible, never esoteric, always relevant to the people. What really is the point of sovereignty or independence when ultimately, you (i.e., any and every country on the planet) you willingly and gladly subject yourself to the rules, regulations of an international organisation in order to compete? Mashing up an Evening Standard headline with a Clintonian assertion: "Grow up and compromise! It's the economy, stupid!"
