I have not read anything that claims the public will be prohibited from using public transport. Public transport comes complete with crying babies, children jumping on seats, aggressive youths and the obligatory drunken Scotsman for each route. That is why Bill Gates prefers his private jet to public transport plus the fact he can go where he wants when he wants and can vary his route as he pleases. Indeed. Personal transport was fun while it lasted. Being a billionaire has its advantages.. shagging Amber Heard without all the hassle is one, having a private jet is another.

And it is perfectly acceptable to you that fossil fuel cars are being phased out with no democratic mandate to do so most especially when the alternative that was promoted is turning into a bit of a white elephant. Well I could be very cross about it and even get very upset. The problem is that there is nothing we can do about it. AGM is pretty much globally accepted. AGM is pretty much globally pushed when more and more science, scientists and actual information tends to contradict this as an emergency. You are being suckered into doing what globalists want you to do. You will do less, travel less, be colder, work harder and be an ideal consumer and you will be happy. Bill Gates is ruining the planet, if that is what CO2 does, many times more than those in your neighbourhood and you will be restricted but Gates will carry on offsetting and carry on regardless.

These neighbourhoods are all very well but what of the keyworkers that need to travel, often outside of normal hours, in the service of the rest of us? How are ambulance crews, doctors, nurses, police, fire and public transport workers etc. etc. supposed to get to work themselves? Especially considering that many have been priced out of the areas where they work?

But he is demanding that it is down to you, and many more like you, to save the planet. I have no objection to Billionaires doing largely as they wish, I do object to them doing that whilst doing their best to restrict everyone else and present those very restrictions as somehow an expression of his virtue.

More accurately, to reduce the ability to travel. I have not read anything that claims the public will be prohibited from using public transport. Reduce the ability to travelPerhaps outright prohibition will be included in phase 2

I’m not being suckered into anything. You are being suckered into thinking you can do anything about it..and for what? Young people seem to be convinced about global warming , convinced that globalisation is the future, convinced that you are a selfish boomer because you managed to buy a house. Why not let them have their way? Well the truth is that you can do nothing to turn the tide regarding the move to zero carbon .

Yup. It’s the rich that gets the pleasure and the poor that loses the family saloon. what’s the answer, socialism? The irony ….

Reduce the ability to travelPerhaps outright prohibition will be included in phase 2 Or perhaps it will create clean air in cities , a far better and easier lifestyle in rural areas and a much improved public transport system.

Right - the soviet model was so dysfunctional they didn't really get cars. When did we vote to adopt similar living standards? Your question seems to be loaded...in the light of what? In light of the fact ..the fact..that there will be less cars on the road … do you want people to be able to access amenities easily or not so easily? We are adopting Soviet living standards , policies or anything else . We are adapting to future events. So why are they fitting bio-metric doors to these amenities?
Like the song goes every thing you think do or say will be in the pill you are given today.

Bentley, you seem to equivocating between support and arguing inevitability.
You appear supportive, but when cornered, claim that it is pointless to to be against it.
That's not an argument for something.

I don’t know why they are fitting bio metric doors . I don’t see how it is related to the subject tbh.

That's not an argument for something. Whereas you seem to be arguing that the consequences will inevitably be negative and are some kind of strategy by billionaires to create a kind of strategic hamlet programme. That is not an argument, it’s a conspiracy theory. I am rationalising the inevitable. It could work, it could be an answer to a seemingly intractable problem.
