In summary, they need to restrict movement in preparation for denying most people any means of transport.

No I mean likely ie few people will own cars . What trap did I fall into? Of course people will own cars unless there is a viable public transport system which is either very cheap or free.....The trap is this is how these faceless areholes want us all to think... What doe it matter say for Oxford CC if private car owners drive out of Oxford a 100 times of day? It's fuck all to do with them....You are just bowing down and getting dry bum fucked by these control freaks. People will own cars until they can’t afford them or they can’t find a way to energise the car . The point of 20 minute neighbourhoods is to reduce the need to travel. Personally I would prefer to drive around in a 3 litre Beemer but IMO petrol will become too expensive and EVs will have enough problems for people not to use them much. As for public transport , if people abandon their cars then public transport might have a new golden era . If I need to go to Southend then it’s a two hour drive . If I use public transport, it would take at least 6 hours and I couldn’t get there and back in the same day .

If you get a Beemer - get the one with indicators

Personal transport but not public transport. When did we vote for this gigantic social change to a soviet model? Cars are being phased out ( The Soviet’s didn’t have enough cars to phase out ). In the light of that do you want people to be able to access amenities easily or not so easily ?

In the light of that do you want people to be able to access amenities easily or not so easily ? Right - the soviet model was so dysfunctional they didn't really get cars. When did we vote to adopt similar living standards? Your question seems to be loaded...in the light of what?

In light of the fact ..the fact..that there will be less cars on the road …do you want people to be able to access amenities easily or not so easily? We are adopting Soviet living standards , policies or anything else . We are adapting to future events.

When did we vote for this gigantic social change to a soviet model? Cars are being phased out Why? When was that proposed as a policy? Creating 20 minute neighbourhoods as a benefit to the populace is a laudable aim, enforcing them upon the public by restrictions and legal sanctions is something else entirely. Three years has been an eye opener and seen many things, dismissed as conspiracy theories then, come to fruition

Three years has been an eye opener and seen many things, dismissed as conspiracy theories then, come to fruition I don’t know why. I only know that fossil fuelled cars are being phased out and there will not be enough public facilities for EVs. I dont need to be Sherlock Holmes to work out the consequences.

And it is perfectly acceptable to you that fossil fuel cars are being phased out with no democratic mandate to do so most especially when the alternative that was promoted is turning into a bit of a white elephant.

Well I could be very cross about it and even get very upset. The problem is that there is nothing we can do about it. AGM is pretty much globally accepted.

More accurately, to reduce the ability to travel. I have not read anything that claims the public will be prohibited from using public transport. Public transport comes complete with crying babies, children jumping on seats, aggressive youths and the obligatory drunken Scotsman for each route. That is why Bill Gates prefers his private jet to public transport plus the fact he can go where he wants when he wants and can vary his route as he pleases.
