Yet more antics from Labours oxygen thief in chief.......Surely it would be more environmentally friendly to run these conferences on Zoom rather than in person. There is no need for taxpayers to fund political jollies now that online conferencing is easily assessable......And what is his input going to be at this conference?
Sadiq Khan comes under fire for his 14,000-mile flight to attend climate change summit in South America
Sadiq Khan will fly 14,000 miles this week to address a climate change summit Campaigners accused him of hypocrisy for travelling 7,000 miles to Argentina The summit is a 'hybrid in-person and virtual event', prompting the questioning

At this stage, when it comes to climate, everyone is a hypocrite. BoJo champions Glasgow and then flies to Cornwall from London. I remember once reading an article that if we all wanted to get of fossil fuels the technology has been available to do so for three decades and if the desire was there we would already be netzero. But oil is big business and the Yanks rely on the petrodollar to fund the Industrial Military Complex, Europe plays along with it given they rely on them for security and now the problem came to big to ignore, do we think that perhaps we should do something about it. It may well be that the Ukraine war has forced our hand on this issue actually. If Labour gets in, the UK goes in hard for green energy and that might set a example to the world.

They are all bloody hypocrites of the highest order. And even if they could reach the mythical netzero which is impossible by the way the earth would die through lack of Carbon dioxide. Mother nature can put more crap up in the atmosphere in seconds than mankind can in a thousand years. Now if they truned their attention to real pollutents like plastic they would gain some cred.

The dumping of sewage into our oceans has been going on for years. I should know as I live very near Torbay on Turd. What has ANY government done about it apart from blowing hot air and treading wind?

You are so wrong. There will never be a time, while animals inhabit the Earth, that there will be no CO2. We are increasing the amount of CO2 by burning fossil fuels and the planet is getting to the point where it will not cope. Plants absorb CO2 and give us oxygen, animals do the opposite.

Then prove me wrong. Like I have already stated there were global changes going on long before man ever stepped foot on the earth. Of course the planet can cope it has done for millions of years whithout any help from ECO zealots. All this green BS is just aanother way of getting more money from those who cannot afford to live now.

All this green BS is just aanother way of getting more money from those who cannot afford to live now. Before man stepped on the Earth, as you put it, there was no animal that burnt coal, used oil and cut down the rain forest. There was a natural balance between animals and nature, we changed that. Trees give of oxygen and absorb CO2 and lock the CO2 away, we breathe the oxygen and exhale CO2. Every tree we chop down increases CO2 and decreases oxygen. We lose 80,000 acres of rainforest per day due to human activity, that makes a massive difference. You are right that global changes have always happened but never so quickly and over such a short time scale.

I have no problem with accepting the concept of global warming . My problem is with the almost religious zealotry style of narrative that comes with it . Calling sceptics ‘ deniers’ , the nutters who glue themselves to paintings and wheeling out the likes Greta Thunberg to spout platitudes reminds me of a religion rather than an objective discourse. The self haters who want to destroy the economy in a race to zero emissions makes their campaign look like a death cult .

Would you keep hitting a stick of dynamite with a hammer if you knew, sooner or later, it would blow your hand off? Because that is what we are doing.

The pumping of sewage into the ocean was going on long before privatisation of our water companies and nobody has had more to say about this scandal than me. I see you ignore the fact that Truss for what she is worth set a time limit of days for these water companies to come up with a viable alternative than this pollution of our oceans.
Environment Secretary gives water bosses 14 days to set out sewage dumping plans Ranil Jayawardena told the Commons he met with water company executives on his first day in office over the ‘unacceptable’ situation.
