Uncontrolled immigration for me. The Albanians coming over in rubber dinghies can be controlled , free movement can’t . They quite clearly CANNOT be controlled. It would have been easier if we still belonged to the Dublin Agreement when we could send them back cross the Channel. But you voted against that.

I never mentioned the relative merits of referendums over representative democracy. That was See2. Please keep up. And when you do reply to a post, please address its contents. What I described as the events inside the Tory party, elected due to the results of Brexit with an 80 seat majority and could do anything it wanted, has become a joke. A rancid, useless, waste of taxpayers money and personal tax fiddling which will leave the UK in a far far worse place than they found it. How is that list of Brexit benefits for the average UK citizen going? This list of Brexit benefits you mention, what are you talking about, what list are you referring to? You said Btexit was a success and that sovereignty would be so much better so you supported Brexit. I asked what benefits rhat sovereignty has brought to the average UK citizen. I asked you to list them. I hadn't realised you have trouble reading and following a conversation. Sorry. I'll go a bit slower in future,

It wasn't a valid referendum other than in process. It was a right royal rip off by a bunch of people who had no idea what they were going to do with it,promised what could never be delivered and clearly still don't. Why start a study to work out what to do with it 6 years after it was made possible? Meanwhile the numpties have been in power for 12 years and over half of that have made the UK the laughing stock of its allies, nearly collapsed the economy, has pushed the UK to the bottom of G7 economic growth and are ALWAYS fending off corruption charges usually to do with their personal tax. It did take a while...for the general public to realise what charlatans the Brexit politicians were...and are. You don't understand. Brexit is a means to an end, not an end in itself. Get over yourself. I am asking what IN PARTICULAR those ends are because frankly I don't see ANY improvement in the UK or anything in the future that the UK couldn't do when in the EU. So maybe you could compile a list too of the specific things we can now do that we couldn't do then for the benefit of the average citizen. I'll check back a bit later to see how you are getting on.

They can be controlled if France cooperates with the UK and the UK targets the traffickers. Free access for East European EU states could not .

Wait a minute, you're moving the goalposts. You asked what the benefits of Brexit were, I answered; sovereignty and independence. You can prevaricate all you like, but the bottom line is Brexit was about the UK leaving the EU. Nothing more, nothing less, and since we have left the EU, Brexit was obviously a success. Unless you're a remainiac, obviously.

The EU state of France could easily stop the illegal invasion, but as we all know, the UK must be punished for Brexit. Are you aware that France refuses to allow migrants boats that cross the Mediterranean to land on French soil. They are litterally turned away, which is why most of them end up in Italy. But at the other end of the country France looks the other way as tens of thousands of illegals pay people smugglers and in front of French police drag dinghies down French beaches en route to Kent. Double standards? I have every confidence you will make excuses for the incompetent duplicitous French and EU authorities.

Well in the real world we ended up with more asylum seekers being sent to the UK under the Dublin Agreement - no wonder the EU was so keen on it. Personally I was never that keen on being the EU's dumping ground.

Isn't it the case that asylum seekers were crossing the EU and then entering the UK and some of those were sent back under the Dublin Regulations; whereas, none are currently being sent back.

Argued with him enough on the old board, it would be an echo chamber if I didn't mute him.
Nothing new has come from him, nothing new to add to the debate of 7 years ago. It's time to move on and look to the future and make the most of things not gaze teary eyed to the past.

First, the leave politicians talked a lot about change and opportunity but had no detailed plans about what needed changing or how. They still don't. Second, in this age of relative economic poverty, there is no other way to prioritise than to closely look at what would be most beneficial for the smallest cost. If this is what the study is for it would be the first time in 6 years that anyone actually looked at the realities of the consequences of Brexit. Instead they have been spaffing money up the wall. Moggie couldn't find any benefits...maybe someone intelligent can. Bollocks. It was entirely clear what the basic difference between Leave and Remain was. Remain said that we would lose our ability to trade with the EU and the economy would crash. Neither have happened, We continue to trade with the EU tariff free and any damage to the economy has been caused by Covid - and has affected most of the world. And Leave said that the advantage was "taking back control". We do now have control. Whether the politicians will take advantage of it is yet to be seen - but at least we can. Also you seem to have a basic misunderstanding of the EU, like many people. The EU is not a "fixed unchanging entity". We were told back when we joined the Common Market that it was a "free trade area" - and no more - and was NOT a political project. Anyone with a brain knew that it was using "free trade" (which there never was) to get countries on board and that the ultimate aim was a European superstate. So it has proved. The problem that the EU now has is that the Eurozone is in serious trouble and that the poorer countries are going bust. They need fiscal union but no one will agree to it. This was also forecast - and it will destroy the EU in the end. We DO NOT want to be tied to the EU when that happens. They're bust.

Any explanations ?
Car manufacturing rose in 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015
But then fell in 2016, and then fell steep 2017 to 2020, and continues to fall
Is this one of the "many advantages" of Brexit ?
