Given people have access to google, i thought a list of acronyms would be overly tedious I didn't google it, I'm upgrading my diesel Volvo by replacing the eccessories to last me another 20 years when I'll be 106, then I'll be able to drive to "green" rallies to show them you can live to a ripe old age; I may meet Zany there. :@ Personally I love new cars and the cool tech they have. So if I'm there look up I'll be in the antigrav vehicle.

Scratched EV battery? Your insurer may have to junk the whole car LONDON/DETROIT (Reuters) -For many electric vehicles, there is no way to repair or assess even slightly damaged battery packs after accidents, forcing insurance companies to write off cars with few miles - leading to higher premiums and undercutting gains from going electric. And now those battery packs are piling up in scrapyards in some countries, a previously unreported and expensive gap in what was supposed to be a "circular economy." "We're buying electric cars for sustainability reasons," said Matthew Avery, research director at automotive risk intelligence company Thatcham Research. "But an EV isn't very sustainable if you've got to throw the battery away after a minor collision." www.msn.com/en-gb/money/other/scratched-ev-battery-your-insurer-may-have-to-junk-the-whole-car/ar-AA18QZoi?cvid=1f279175f38347f686530755d94c8cb4&ocid=winp2fptaskbarhover&ei=7

The claims for extremely good mpg figures for PHEV's make Dieselgate look like a model of honest advertising. The manufacturer claims 148mpg - the real life reality is less than 50mpg!

That's Mrs P's car. She loves it. I doubt we know the true mpg, but she doesn't keep topping up the tank and only charges it about once a week. It's mostly used locally, with some 40-mile journeys. We went to France over Christmas and, though there was lots of autoroute driving, it didn't seem that thirsty.
With the reduced costs of parking and road tax, it's proved reasonably inexpensive. Insurance isn't bad for a London street parked vehicle either...

Sanity in Europe? - will our clowns now follow?
“The nonsensical blanket ban on the internal combustion engine is thus off the table,”

This looks to me to be the first crack appearing in the façade - the first admission that the reality isn't quite matching the glossy presentations.

Do you think they will send the tanks in?

Do you think they will send the tanks in? The electric ones? No i think they'll give ICE vehicles 5 more years. Things have slowed down with Covid and the cost of living crises.
