Even if they can get one how would they hook it to their terraced house? Or their flats in a highrise? Already answered that one. I said, there is no current solution for home charging at flats. But I linked and article with councils proposals. Not willing to keep answering the same questions.

Nice try. But not practible and probably permitted. Not to mention the energy requirement. But I have already explained that for you. And I have answered you. It is you whirling round in circles, not me. You haven't answer the direct facts I provided. How are you going to connect the electricity from your terraced house ? How much energy will that require?

I have finally found a benefit with EV's. - they are absolutely crap at towing so we will have less caravans and horsebox's on the roads....whats not to like.. ..and this was towing with an EV that had the battery power to do it - but this EV costs £115,000! I haven't watched it because I'm sure its just another petrol head deliberately setting up a situation for an EV to fail. Change of plan, I watched it, quite a fair guy actually. He pulled a very large twin axle caravan 28ft and 1.5 tons and you'll never guess what. It reduced the cars range from 250 to 150 miles. Sounds about right.

Why isn't there more counter-propaganda though - ie EV advocates setting up situations that show ic cars failing to provide what you might reasonably expect from a car?
I guess Ev enthusiasts have higher principles

University awarded £582,000 grant to study 'second-life' options for electric car batteries and prevent 9MILLION TONS going into landfill each year Grant is part of a £4.5m project to establish battery recycling and reuse options Majority of decommissioned EV batteries are sent to landfill or incinerated

That's got a rooftop area of about 20m^2 or 10 x 400w solar panels = 4kW.

So the latest cunning plan is for the Grid to suck your car battery dry overnight - bit of a twat when you jump in it in the morning to go to work.. "For example, electric cars parked in people's driveways could be called upon to send electricity back into the grid when supplies are tight."

Yes. To PREVENT, as in stop. So what's your point? Do you really think 'Eco zealots' think batteries will never end? Talking about stupid, do you ever think before you post?

I can see their point, it is all a bit rushed. But then we have sat on our hands for the last 30 years and waited until it was urgent. A no win I'm thinking. I think as usual the EU will compromise. As an aside. I am currently out in the Canaries and the skies have clouded over every afternoon (Been coming here twice a year for 14 years now and not seen it like this before. So I looked up changing weather Canaries and found the tourist industry are very worried because climate change has pushed weather systems further down the Atlantic and these are changing the prevailing wind direction and bringing in clouds to the Islands. For a country entirely who's economy is based around winter sun its a devastating blow. Point is there are down sides and costs in doing nothing, just as there are in doing something.
