It's hard to avoid the same conclusion as the chap in Pac's video - that many of the proponents simply don't care about any damages caused to 'little people'. They have found a high horse and they going to ride it around as hard as they can Its hard to avoid the conclusion that you are clutching at straws. a person that on every other level says small state low tax and stuff the poor. Someone who accuses me of being a snowflake suddenly imagineers a scenario in which the poor are punished because what? I haven't watched the video, but let me guess. The assumption is that electric cars will always be £20,000 and the poor and the old will suffer because of this? That they are being taxed so the rich can have nice cars? The fact that it will be another 7 years before we ban the selling of new ones, but that old ones will be around for decades. I'm sure you hadn't thought (at all really) but in this case that the poor don't buy new cars? Still on the plus side its good to see the socialist coming out in you all. They don't need to accuse you, you claim tto be a snowflake in your profile.

Get a petrol/diesel vehicle. You can recharge that in 4 minutes - and parking is free while you do it.........So more than 2 hours to shop and 2 hours to charge? Proof that he's thick. Councillor blasts Lidl after he was slapped with 'illogical' £90 fine while charging his electric car for two hours while he did his shopping Max Wilkinson claims there were no obvious signs around the car park The Cheltenham councillor says it is 'illogical' to restrict charging to 90 minutes www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-11769261/Councillor-blasts-Lidl-slapped-illogical-90-fine.htmlGet an EV charge it at home while you sleep, parking is free and the fuel is 1/3 the price. If you had bothered to watch the video you would see the nonsense in your argument.

Get an EV charge it at home while you sleep, parking is free and the fuel is 1/3 the price. Charger blockers are a pain in the arse. They are charging points not parking spaces. Set an alarm on your mobile and go and move it, be considerate. Would you leave your car in front of the pump while you got a sandwich in the petrol station? I bloody hope not. Yet another myth....You should have watched the video you called clickbait for idiots......That would have shown who the real idiots are. I’ll jump in here because i cant find the original The councillor is a lying piece of shit. I regularly charged my Leaf at Lidl supermarkets. They were the only way to charge at 50kw without paying a fortune. They all used podpoint chargers. Some pod point chargers had no penalties. Some imposed a £10 fee after a certain time. Some had restricted parking. Here’s the thing In order to charge the damn car at a lidl you had to have either the podpoint app or the zapmap app on your smartphone. There was no other way they didnt have contactless card payment. The cost of each charge point was clearly shown on the screen that asked you to confirm your desire to charge your car The fact you would be slapped a £x penalty fee for staying connected for more than a certain time was prominently shown on that screen But at Lidl Lawrence Hill Bristol to give just one example a notice on the machine, AND a warning on the app screen that asked you to confirm the charge, gave you a clear warning that the store only allowed limited parking (40 min at Lawrence Hill) after which a parking charge penalty would be imposed. The signs where this was done were obvious. The councillor is either blind, illiterate, or a total fucking liar.

It depends
If you try to pull the 7kw cable out of the charger you cant it is locked. You can pull it out of my car end but you must know how the interlock works (i suppose it's on the web)
The 50kw Chacademo is hardwired to the charger and the car plug locks on place and wont release until i stop the charge using my phone

If you live in a terraced street with no front garden that can be converted into a parking area, like a lot here in the SW, you would have to trail a cable across the pavement, causing a trip hazard. And what if, like often happens, someone parks outside your house, forcing you to park, in some cases, in a neighbouring street?............What your average virtue signalling EV buyer is when they tell you it runs on thruppence a week, is the ridiculous price they've paid for it and the crap resale price when the trade it in. Should you buy an electric car? Owners reveal the REAL advantages and pitfalls of owning an EV – and what they wish they had known Second hand EVs are in short supply so prices aren't affordable, the public say Experts add the transition to Electric Vehicles should have 'been done earlier'

Many countries are allowing boom connectors that go over your head. Belgium allows wires across the pavement is in a cable protector. Most parking in terrace streets is for permit holders only. Of course there will always be someone you can find. I don't know of any virtue signalling EV buyer who doesn't admit the purchase price is higher and calculates the overall cost. I have no idea how you think the resale price is crap when so few have been re-sold. Just making stuff up again I suppose. And you even contradict yourself in the same post when you say "Second hand EVs are in short supply so prices aren't affordable, the public say" 🙄

They're a sod to get up the stairs They are a sod to get along the road. Oh yes I know the road you mean. The one with all the huge old gas guzzlers parked badly down the side

Of course there will always be someone you can find. Yes but that does not give you a reserved space outside of your house.

Easily? The scheme hasn't got close to the practical issues. How would you get the power from the street to your house? Or even of there was sufficient energy to power your EV?
