But you don't have to be a teacher for a tech college a retired skilled or those who are still working people can pass their knowledge on to those who want to be trained.. They're still teachers when they get there and no one wants the job anymore. The pays poor, there's no respect from pupils or parents. I have two cousins both went into teaching both left saying they didn't get to teach anything it was just crowd control. Depends what they want to teach and what boxes they tick. |

No surpise there then. Our language and our history are being attacked daily by the loony left. They obviusly didn't tick the correct boxes as far as the swamp was concerned. |

Now if you had mentioned the loony left and the fact that you are not even allowed to raise your voice to the kids and the parents refuse to even have a naughty step, send their kids to school with no discipline and blame the teachers for every bit of damage there kids do. Then you might be closer. |

1 The left generally and their unrealistic appraisal of human nature
2 The left's wish to refactor education into political re-education to form a new society
3 The left's total politicisation of the teaching profession (through the unions and civil service)
4 The removal of streaming
5 The constant race grievance mongering
6 The removal of all corporal punishment
7 The devaluing of traditional values such as duty
8 The destruction of the family

An EV could double the residential energy bill. And then there is the additional problem is that we, UK, is already in an energy deficit. Contemplate on that if you will. As regards the increased electricity bills, these are more than offset by the savings in petrol bills. the Battery petrol equivalent is around 50p a litre compared to £1.50 a litre for petrol. As regards the generating capacity, much of this is drawn at night when demand elsewhere is much lower. About 30% of electricity is used by industry which tends to shut down at night. And overall energy usage drops by about 35% at night. But its widely accepted that production needs to grow with the new demand. Looking into the future its far cheaper to supply electricity than to supply petrol. It is scale you need to look it. The EV is about 40kWh which would last about four days. Four whole complete 24-hour days. |

Smacking is not necessary for discipline. You don't need to beat your mates or employees to correct them. You don't need to beat your kids. Kids respond well to being told off in many ways without a need for physical violence. Many studies show kids who get hurt tend to think hurting is how you sort issues. That said, the rest of your point I totally agree with. I got told off for telling my grand daughter to shush when she was screaming. Apparently by being as loud as she was I was mentally harming her. (That soon disappeared when she learnt she could scream everywhere) Only 3 and learning fast  |

For years we managed a sort of middle ground between well funded Grammar schools and other kids leaving at 14 with bugger all to look forward to but servitude. Now its gone too far the other way with every child told they can be whatever they want. |
