Well yes battery cars have improved, who'd have thought it.
and recycling, from your own link
“The value of black mass depends on what can be extracted from it, which is dependent on its composition as well as the technology used to process it. Lithion’s hydrometallurgy processes enable recovery of 98% of the black mass and over 95% of the nickel, cobalt and lithium found in it,” Couture said.
Sounds pretty good. But then much more likely that batteries will be repurposed many time first.

If only the OP remarks about Nissan were true They have indeed been in the EV game since 2012 The Leaf is a legend for its lousy range, incredibly made out to be almost twice the real value by the company, who made no provision for cooling so running the car at full thrust for any length of time boils the cells and in short fucks them. If you see one doing 45 on the motorway, this is why. And the reality in regard to recycling ? www.fastmarkets.com/insights/black-mass-value-will-increase-as-recycling-tech-improvesThey still can’t retrieve the lithium. Oh, yeah, almost forgot. The noise that makes them ‘real’ cars Fuck that. It’s SO much easier to make a fucking annoying cyclist history in stealth mode. I think it was either CATL or BYD who have found a way of increasing the performance of sodium batteries to equal or even exceed Li ion. I understand this both makes then cheap and easy to deal with on disposal. This is the main difference between a Chinese firm and a shite Western one. They are really hot on research and acquire many valuable patents.

A question for those happy with or promoting electric cars.
How much does it cost to get a special car charger installed at home?

A question for those happy with or promoting electric cars. How much does it cost to get a special car charger installed at home? There WAS a government scheme subsidising them This meant you could have one fitted as I did when we were thinking of buying an EV four years ago, for £100. Octopus want a thousand pounds today That provides 7kwH. The cars come with a 3 pin plug charger which will do 3kwH. The laugh is my house is fitted with a 7kwH charger but the car was never fitted with 7kwH charge pack - which cost an extra £1000 in 2012 - so I either take all day, or take it to LIDL and use the Chademo 55kwH port the car DOES have and fill It up to 80% while doing the shopping

Something I should say reading one comment above
I shelled out five grand on a 9 year old EV with 9000 miles on the clock and a seemingly fully functional battery because my diesel Suzuki got written off and the car met the absolute minimum of what I needed m.
In that sense it meets my basic requirements for a vehicle that allows me to do my job and pay the bills, but it provides absolutely fuck all comfort and barely any use beyond that bare minimum and costs more to run than a petrol car, more to insure because it does more damage if I hit something, and is about to be ducking taxed.
If only the holier than thou EV driving equivalent of tambourine banging god botherers were that honest about the things we might be able to have an honest conversation
But Christ almighty it’s like trying to date a Jehovah’s Witness (and I say that as someone whose brother joined the Mormons on hearing of the antics of Joyce McKinney)

There is only one company in the UK who are attempting to recyle Lithium Battery's from toy cars...And if you want a real laugh look at the fucking rubbish going to landfill with worn out Wind turbine blades.
