Surely Boris Johnson, should have been named in the list. Quite. To put in Jeremy Corbyn but omit Boris is somewhat bizarre. Jeremy Corbyn's only contribution is to lose two elections? Looks like deliberate omission to avoid Boris getting so many votes

Looks like deliberate omission to avoid Boris getting so many votes Come on now steve, Boris was a comedian of the highest order , and probably one of the poorest holders of the office of pm , but to answer steve srb original question , in terms of the economy thatcher massively damaged then changed how the uk economy worked , some may argue she needed to , but in terms of social structure , society and how the old two party FPTP system was supposed to work with a choice betwwen left and right rather then two centre right tory parties , it has to be blair.
Boris merely enacted brexit because both cameron and may failed to do so , so if you hate johnson in that respect , then the tory leader who has to take the blame for brexit is of course david cameron .

Looks like deliberate omission to avoid Boris getting so many votes Nonsense. I simply tried to avoid anyone too recent and Corbyn was a borderline decision, but his tenure in charge of Labour began in 2016 and ended in 2020. Johnsons tenure as PM did not even begin until 2019 and lasted until 2022. I simply made a decision not to include anyone whose tenure ended less than 12 months ago If I could amend the poll I would add Johnsom just for you but it is too late now. As far as I can tell it is not possible to edit a poll once posted.

Karl Marx
Spent his early life stirring up political strife on the continent, but as soon as he arrived in the UK found that he could not even face up to his landlords, so he ended up scrounging off friends and family and thentook himself off to the British Library where he produced vast wedges of incomprehensible rubbish that was very popular with the left because it was incomprehensible rubbish upon which any interpretation could be placed

Well I'd have voted Johnson. In that case you will have to vote for the someone else option and explain who and why in the thread, which I see you have already done. So there we are. If you think you can do it better post a poll of your own.

I assumed you were one of the ones voting for the someone else option, since you already explained that you would have voted for Boris had he been included so it made sense. If not, I'm sorry. I don't want to fall out with you but you accused me of having ulterioir motives for not including Johnson and I get the feeling that you have been trying to pick a fight with me over it ever since. It is just a fucking poll. It is not that important. Feel free to do one of your own that includes Johnson if you have a problem with mine, but please do stop trying to pick a fight with me over it, unfair accusations included. I thought we respected each other.

The propaganda is still working for Thatcher, the same propaganda that kept her in office until her own party said enough is enough, off you pop.

To think I would be so small minded is an insult, frankly.. There is no point in posting a poll unless you do it fairly. I chose to omit anyone who was currently in office or position or had been within the last 12 months. Nothing more sinister than that. It is you who are reading malice aforethought into it. Just do your own pigging poll where you can include or exclude anyone you want. I will still vote in it. Sorry I omitted someone you were desperate to vote for. I could not include everyone. Pacifico I believe wanted to vote for Theresa May. Thats why there is a vote for someone else option.

Who do you think has had the most baleful long term negative impact upon the UK, its economy, its social structure and its society? Many have contributed towards us being the basket case that we are, but my vote goes to Thatcher who started the rot in so many ways. She did not start the rot. There were idiot decisions made with the economy back in the 60s. In fact the ones who started it were the ones who decided to get involved with WW1. This is the biggest and stupidest decision that has ever been made in this country as far as I'm aware. She did a lot of economic and social damage. What's more NEGATIVE long term damage than selling off our oil and gas, never mind the rest of the family silver that she also sold. Corner shop silliness.
