Who do you think has had the most baleful long term negative impact upon the UK, its economy, its social structure and its society?
Many have contributed towards us being the basket case that we are, but my vote goes to Thatcher who started the rot in so many ways.

Mrs Thatcher was the giant who took on Red Robbo and Scargel, her legacy was squandered by lesser Prime Ministers over the years. We need another Mrs T now.

There is quite a list of the damage she did in her failed government. The selling off of the countries oil and gas is very significant at the moment.

I went for Teresa May - the lunacy of Net Zero will cause lasting economic damage that will take generations to repair (if ever)

Has to be Blair. My life changed little during Thatcher's years, yet was totally different after Blair. A personal measure I know but in terms of destroying what existed in terms of Britain Blair has no equal.

Surely Boris Johnson, should have been named in the list. Quite. To put in Jeremy Corbyn but omit Boris is somewhat bizarre. Jeremy Corbyn's only contribution is to lose two elections?

A personal measure I know but in terms of destroying what existed in terms of Britain Blair has no equal. Blair / NL repaired most of the long term damage done by Thatcher, the only downturn for NL was caused by the International Financial Meltdown of 2008. Which was not caused by Blair / NL. Your point is a personal one, not a true answer to the question. I suggest you delete your vote

Many have contributed towards us being the basket case that we are, but my vote goes to Thatcher who started the rot in so many ways. She did not start the rot. There were idiot decisions made with the economy back in the 60s. In fact the ones who started it were the ones who decided to get involved with WW1. This is the biggest and stupidest decision that has ever been made in this country as far as I'm aware.
