Sorry people, I appear to have broken the WhoineyBot (and possibly the KimBot). Oh very dear! So, you've no answer, then. You're just going to proceed on the basis that countries trade just as well with each other with unharmonised standards and laws as they do with harmonised standards and laws? And they say that Brexiters are thick!

Ah, so you still have no response. Haromised laws and standards reduce trade barriers. Reduced trade barriers increases trade. Increased trade increases wealth. That's sort of basic, Squeaky. If Brexiters are not prepared to allow an external body to harmonise laws and standards across Europe, there is only one other way for the UK's standards and laws to be in harmony with the rest of Europe. That is, the UK parliament will make any law it chooses, and the rest of Europe will simply copy the laws made by the UK parliament. You're probably stupid enough to believe that could happen, Squeaky. The only way to do it is to have an external body like the EU make standards and laws for everyone.

Rides home on Japanese motorcycle. Opens Chilean Merlot. Takes piss out of Whoiney on Chinese computer while checking FTSE 100 and booking Far Eastern holiday using American Express. And laughs, and laughs, and laughs. Oh very dear, Whoiney. Oh very dear! You poor deluded fool!

Aha the lists I thought you were told not to reproduce on here. Pacifico very graciously gave his permission to post them in their own threads, Sal. Don't pretend you didn't miss them.

You and Squeaky are part of the 32% who are still in denial. It's nice to have something substantial to link to when people like you claim that Brexit hasn't done any damage.

Who cares? Yep. That's why you see exactly the same major brands occurring everywhere across the globe. Everything's Global these days, Whoiney. You really do need to get out more. Can you suggest a method of harmonizing standards and laws across Europe that doesn't involve an external body like the EU? Or do you think that trade barriers aren't a barrier to wealth creation? Well that's a load of horseshit - the EU is the most harmonised trading bloc on the planet - it is also the slowest growing.

Funny that, because you admitted elsewhere that there are fewer barriers to trade between the UK and NI than between the UK and the EU. Yet, you maintain that the Protocol has caused substantial barriers to trade between the UK and NI. You can't have it both ways, Doc.

Why do the EU keep planting these stories?
Because the EU is France and Germany - the rest, as someone said, are just the trimmings.
The PIIGS and the former Eastern bloc nations bring very little to the EU table. The UK did and the EU needs the UK's contribution.
They also don't want a powerful competitor, unconstrained by their rules, on the doorstep.
In short, they need us more than we need them.
But the gullible keep lapping up these stories.
Fair.
