I hope the UK changes it for the better. The ECHR protects everyone from being exploited, from human trafficking to health and safety in any workplace. Lol! Care to share the joke ^^^ ?

I wanted sovereignty not two layers of government UK + EU.
As we have cast off one layer..... almost not quite - ECHR etc.
Then we should be able to plot our political and economic course better and stop supranational bodies like the WEF having any influence in our realm without significant debate.
Sure there might be an economic hit while we restructure post COV-ID.

How many times in 40 plus years did Parliament not have final say? The reason why I hardly do UK political forums is that after all these years, we suffer these Remoaners that just constantly bleat on. And I'm waiting for the bellends to blame everything on Thatcher. That whinge has been going on for decades. England became England in 927. What percentage of the England's existence has it been in the EU dictatorship. I'm sure we'll live. Nobody likes to talk about their mistakes.

Here is some good news... sparkling wine is going to get cheaper.. ..although why we needed an EU regulation on tin foil applied to bottles of wine in the first place is rather unclear - although if the EU thought that regulations on the shape of Bananas were needed I suppose we shouldnt be surprised..,.

Remnants do. In fact they never shut up. There's never a shortage of people prepared to tell you you've fucked up.

The ex remainers can moan as much as they like. We aren’t a member of the EU now. Everything else is conjecture.

Shame there's nothing to celebrate then. Also, regulating the shape of bananas is one of the biggest EU myths that the uninformed still fall for. The EU simply put bananas into two classes. Class 1 bananas can have "slight defects of shape" and Class 2 bananas full-on "defects of shape". That's it. No ban on bendy bananas, no regulations on the shape a banana has to be before it can be sold in the EU. Just some misleading tosh for the terminally uninformed to get outraged about.

I don't think people are losing faith in Brexit, they are losing faith in the Conservatives to make Brexit a success, which is different. The Establishment (Civil Service, lefties in media, education and politics) are determined that Brexit will not be a success. There is a difference between "working closely and in alignment with" and being under their Parliamentary control and paying through the nose for the pleasure. Out best interests is building towards Pacific Trade, which is what we are doing. In what way have the "The Establishment -- "Civil Service, lefties in media, education and politics" stopped or reduced or hindered Brexit success? "Paying through the nose" ignores the actual money returned to this country, and the benefits accrued from being a member of the largest single market in the world. Pacific Trade in its very nature caused by greater distances of travel, has its non-productive increased costs. I wonder how much twelve months of moving goods over the extra distances involved would cost.

Why do you need civil servents making legal regulations on the shape of bananas in the first place? - even the EU (finally) admitted that it was nonsense and got rid of the regulation. It's the same with this story - what was the thinking behind having a group of bureaucrats sitting around and deciding on whether tin foil should be stuck to bottles of wine? - it's lunacy.

I wanted sovereignty not two layers of government UK + EU. Is there another way to harmonise trading standards and laws across Europe that doesn't involve an external body like the EU? Or do you deny that unharmonised laws and standards are a barrier to trade and wealth creation?

Is there another way to harmonise trading standards and laws across Europe that doesn't involve an external body like the EU? Who cares? Or do you deny that unharmonised laws and standards are a barrier to trade and wealth creation? Yep. That's why you see exactly the same major brands occurring everywhere across the globe. Everything's Global these days, Whoiney. You really do need to get out more.
