you mean you still watch the bbc and pay the propaganda tax steve?
Just how old are you mate?
You do know you can watch streaming services without a tv licence.
And people have to pay for the decent streaming services (and I do, more than I pay for the TV licence) Not that I'm convinced you never watch the BBC At least you have the choice with streaming what you want to watch and pay for.
Netflix is 15.99 a month ,thats for the top serivce , you can get it cheaper than that which is cheaper than the monthly direct debit for the licence tax to watch shite like the bbc.
Still steve each to their own. As i said to you before , the licence will die wae all you old fohgies.

We have Amazon Prime, Netflix, Acorn TV, Amazon Music, Disney+, MUP and Sky. Now look up the subscriptions and do the maths
Anyone that just gets Netflix (£10.99 a month) is so so just going to get a limited span of programming. I note you're not denying you do watch the BBC

Doing the maths isnt the point , its about choice and content.
When the old live tv channels ( im old enough to remember the days beofre breakfast telly and channel four and five) were the only entertainment , i could see point of the argument behind the telly tax. The world has moved on though , and technology overtaken it , along with new generations.
Like i said steve , we can agree to disagree , but technology , and a diminishing audience will take care of the bbc and the licence eventually.
Nick robinson of the bbc and many others have voiced "concerns accordingly " ,along with many politicians.
Im 50 , and at the minute i would say the over 60s are the bbc licence fee source of income predominantly.

It's apparently your consumer choice to pay for these services, which isn't something people are awarded when it comes down to the BBC (an unnecessary service).
It's something the left wing corpo rats do not understand.

The over 60s are becoming its rump audience and that's down to a lot of factors including its own stupidity
It doesn't mean the situation can't be rescued or that its poor fare right now but the tipping point can't be far away

As i said , technology , changing generational viewing habits , and basic maths and economics will take care of the bbc and its licence fee one way or the other .
I think the term for steves defence of the holier than thou bbc is flogging a dead horse....

It's something the left wing corpo rats do not understand. I get that but the truth is without the BBC both ITV and Sky would go downmarket into baiting viewers. Surveys continue to show the majority support the BBC, how long that will last I don't know. Some surveys suggest many people want the BBC as it is now but for free - not exactly a credible future. As for all those subscriptions yes it was my/her consumer choice but even I know it's a ridiculous set we buy. Netflix is on the verge of being cancelled but then I said that 6 moths ago.

So far though , the bbc dont appear to have any answers............. They have made three huge mistakes 1. Moving children's TV off BBC1, has lost them most of a generation of viewers 2. Pandering to the click bait fare (eg BBC3). Being poor copies of downmarket trash is no way to get the audience they need to have a case for the licence fee 3. Pandering to 'right on' causes. Annoys many, offends quite a few

If the BBC were to buy the television rights to show Premiership matches / F1 it would be more attractive sports wise, than whoever commentated on the highlights.

As i said , the bbc lost children in my expericence a long time ago. Nickleodeon and other channels were a favourite of my kids twenty years ago. Not the bbc.
second point not sure. Agree with third point .

Well it persisted with Mumsy TV like Blue Peter for too long but having Children's TV on BBC1 til 5.55pm was a massive capture of generations to get into the more grown up fare that followed. 6 years olds are not going to watch Pointless in any numbers are they
