You know better than that Steve. The poster's name is Bentley and it is not OK for members to expose what his real name may or may not be. Why did you feel the need to bring this to the board, couldn't you just have changed James to Sexy or maybe just send a friendly PM to Steve K? I'm not sure why Doris  posted that ticking off seeing as it's not forbidden in the rules and other posters have been doing it over and over to other posters. |

Why on earth is left wing Lineker paid so much? Because hes Good at his job ? So everyone who is good at their job should be on a £million salary? I would have thought being good at your job was a prerequisite for keeping your job. |

His job is to talk about football, I could find a man in the pub capable of doing it to the same standard and willing to do for £35k a year. Jeez, bring back Des Lynam. FFS Vinny do get real Lineker is widely regarded as being the finest football programme host in the country, why do you think BT Sport paid him a massive salary to host presentation of their European games for so many years? Answer: because he's the best and your man down the pub would fold up within minutes if not seconds. As for Des Lynam you seem to forget he was poached off the BBC by ITV by giving him a mahoosive salary. Same as happened with Dan Walker to Ch 5 etc etc He was a millionaire before he took the job and doesn't need the money. Here's my alternative: Fabrice Muamba. He had his playing career cut short by an on pitch heart attack. Why not employ him instead ? Fabrice Muamba is comparatively not well off, he could do with the wage of a sports commentator, even if he took 1/3 of what Gary Lineker gets, it would be extremely good for him. For 78 minutes medics struggled to save his life (fortunately they did). I think he could be an extremely good host for a football show. |

Another thing Gabby Logan, she's already with the BBC, her pay is £200k per year, 1/5th of what Gary Lineker is paid.
Sack Gary or pay Gabby the same wage he gets.

Gabby Logan is a superb host (why ITV dropped her into the Beeb's lap is one of those huge puzzles) but she doesn't put in the hours Lineker does and doesn't have his abilities referred to above. |
