This story caught my attention on twitter this morning regarding the former darling of blairite labour , and good friend of keir starmers right hand man ed milliband....the slithering chukka umuna , advising a Czech billionaire leader of a private equity firm based in Luxembourg on the potential purchase of Royal Mail. Yet another window opening on how these blairites in the labour party think and feel , and why the working class walked away from them. In a way i do hope starmer and blairite labour mark 3 do actually win the next uk general election.
Its going to be funny watching them pull whats left of the uk down to the ground.

They are all as slippery as they come, the other week Labour were kicking off because they felt they hadn't had a big enough share of the spoils of COVID, so they gave them a bigger one, which quietened things down, immediately,we wouldn't notice anyway.

Just laugh repeatedly sheepy when anyone who tells me they are left wing wants to vote in the red blairite tories to get the blue tories out as though starmer and co are going to deliver the elysian fields of leftydom .
Ummuna remember was a guy who was being touted as a future blairite leader , was and remains best pals with milliband and many in the party , and only left labour because he hated corbyn and co that much.
When someone shows you who they really are , believe it.
Starmer and co are going to set these islands on fire even more than the tories who they wish to emulate.
Austerity , corruption covid debt you name it , blairite labour would have done the same as the tories , but done it much worse.
Starmer wanted harder and more lasting covid lockdowns , remember darling, the former chancellor, said if labour had won in 2010 , they would have implemented a much harder austerity than the tories. The lists go on.

That former Labour leadership Hopeful withdrew his name from the list. He was true to NL while still a member of NL. His understanding of business is probably why he was associated with NL. And of course this country is a very different place to when when he was in politics. He is now a business man looking after his own interests and why not after the garbage that was thrown at the party he supported ? NL's strength was that it was able to act for the many not the few, and that included business people. But for the international financial meltdown and the dishonest anti-NL propaganda it gave opportunity to, NL would have remained in office at that time. Even with the Meltdown and the dishonest propaganda the Tories didn't win the 2010 election and needed to form a coalition in order to govern.

He was as you admit a former darling of new labour , and only left new labour when corbyns regime took over , so much did he despise the labour left.
Love this stuff about the new labour acolytes like umunna.
Plenty more where this came from.

Someone will cotton on a minute, it is all about how they divide up the spoils, they don't give a flying feck about anything else. Which is why they are crying in their champagne over the leaving the EU. In the meantime they have what is left of the political fantasists and cult members, at best 10% of the voting public.20 % between the lot of them.

It doesn't take much to please you in your clearly biased position which appears to be with the opposition bench polishers on the left. He didn't need to despise the Left, just recognising their foolishness was enough. Strong political opinions that deny people the opportunity to do good for the less well off by keeping people like yourself out of office doesn't make a lot of sense. New Labour were in office longer than Old Labour were since 1951.

Good, exactly what will they have a mandate for and who gave them one, certainly not the voting public. They have to rely on lies and pure fantasy, lets see how well that goes down, they will be thinking as long as they can get in they can smooth things over and turn people into their way of thinking, just one problem with that fantasy, if they didn't vote for any of you in the first place, they are certainly not going to be taking their crap. Which in actual fact the Conservatives took full advantage of. So now they have had the mandate removed.

Yes, anyone who thinks that there'll be any functional difference, other than negatively, is deluding themselves.

My my you new labour worshippers hate the truth , you really do dont you?
so if the "left " are foolish , you wont be wanting their votes and support as incompatible with the red tory political vision? lmfao.
and they have been out of office for twelve years in the yookay , and 15 in scotland and counting.
Noreover , their second term in office was won on the back of one of the lowest post war turnouts at uk level in modern history. So much was the voter apathy , the feeling of helplessness of many including those less well off , that blair endowed on the uk nations.
Corbyn achieved more votes in 2017 than blair did in 2001 and 2005. Blair lost 4 million voters over his time in power , and left labour millions of voters worse of than when he began.

Their move away from Corbynism extremism will help. will it? In scotland , it was the blairite jim murphy and his then blairte leader milliband who wiped out labour.
Corbyn only became leader in 2015. Sorry to bring up political fact and history i know how you hate it , but it wasnt corbyn extremism that lost the 2010 and 2015 elections was it? It could also be argued it was the starmer blairite refusal the accept the 2016 referendum result that forced corbyns hand and made him support such a massive anti democratic stance on brexit in 2019.....

As for the holy grail of lefty nationalisation and al the rest , anyone who votes starmer can forget it.
