That was my obvious thought, plus a thick pair of gloves, some oversize snippers and a visit to the scrappy after an overnight foray, beats lineside signalling as an easy target. imagine those chargers swinging about outside your house in residential streets ? in some of the Scottish towns and cities I know , they would be getting ripped off the building by bored teenagers . Im sure scotland is not alone ...... God someone needs to invent the clip. Sigh Indeed. In other news if cars are being stolen , just invent the key. |

who in the UK has allocated private parking on a public street? At the moment they are mostly resident only, wouldn't take much to make them house specific. That said there's a good app now where you can let others use your charger when you aren't. The app automatically turns on the power to the boom and charges the user. It’s all this modern stuff, kids today, don't know they’re born. An he blithely ignores reality and travels back to planet zany . |

Zany and co are resistant to common sense and reality . im one of the lucky ones with off street parking and a garage. As ive said before , when cost and inconvenience are dealt with , I might have a look at whats out there next time we change vehicles , but not before , and certainly not as things stand. Zany simply isnt a good enough salesperson to come out with the auld "trust me.....it will be fine" bollocks . The reality is changing to full EV is more cost more hassle more inconvenience and as you say lacking in common sense and reality. Indeed. I dont have a garage but have enough room on my front garden to park 3 cars and room for a charger . Petrol cars are still the best option by far for me . |

How can builders work from home? Or farm workers, or lorry drivers, factory workers,road workers ,shop workers, warehouse workers etc etc . It’s merely a fallacy of office workers who cannot conceive how so many workers work with their hands even though it’s all around them. |

The reason I asked is that although around 10.5 million people live in rural areas, only 300,000 work in agriculture.
So what are the other 10 million doing there?
Not everyone needs to commute, many people work from home now. Many people don’t . |

Unless you are saying that market towns will be cleared and the residents forced to live in cities then there will be people living in the countryside. I'm not sure that the problems of rural public transport are really about the market towns, less of an issue here. Market towns are linked to other market towns and villages…villages are going to grow but I agree that you are not sure. What point are you trying to make ? |
