Stability, no corners cut for personal gain? Their stability at the expense of everyone else's is not a reasonable compromise. There are CORNERS and there are corners. CORNERS cut that effect the result, also reduce the payment, while corners that don't affect the result, should probably be cut. Linking payment to results encourages people to cut the correct corners - ie to achieve the desired result more efficiently We can see this in real life - do many people on long term benefits, assured of a cheque, still make themselves busy picking up litter and clearing drainage ditches for no payment? Just look what happened with Railtrack where what should have been state jobs were put out to a private company. Several dead and a collapsed company that had to be rescued by our taxes. Some jobs need to be state jobs I agree it was a bit of a bodge. imho too many people, who didn't know what they were doing, were put in charge of people who did. There are reasons why things like rail, water and electricity don't sit comfortably in either a privatized or public model

There is no possible way to justify people suffering and dying simply because of a lack of money. But, as a society, we are spending money faster than we are accumulating it. That's not a situation that can last. Sorry. Yes, that is the problem and always has been and will always be the case, no matter how much they tax us

] Well I tried to claim benefits when my savings were exhausted while I was waiting four years for the asshole Welsh NHS under their utterly f**king hopeless twat management and Welsh labour government to get their f***king act together and remove the cataracts that made me go blind and lose my job The wanker at the job centre told me I had to register online. I tried telling the twat I couldn’t see to do that and he started treating me like a f**king four year old who didn’t know how to turn on a PC Honest to god if the Newspapers ever report a cruise missile /drone strike taking out Newport Job Centre at 9am when the place only has shits like him in there, come looking for me, as it will be one of mine that did it. I really, honestly do not understand why more of their staff are not murdered given the way they treat those made redundant or unemployed through no fault of their own, and I say that as the owner of six P45’s handed to be by an official receiver over the what is it now 49 years of my tax paying working life. And from the posts in here some of you clearly need to experience that first hand. But now Rishi’s ousted the man whose bright ideas were to increase employment opportunities, I bet some of you will. We have a friend who has been disabled for about 30 years since a filing cabinet fell on her at work and broke her neck. She had to fill out a renewal form for her payments. Some one at the DWP altered her form changing the distance she could walk from 5 metres to 50 metres so she didn't qualify. Fortunately she had made a photo copy of the form and proved her case. It went before a tribunal and she got her benefit reinstated. But although the DWP was obviously aware of the case, no one at the DWP was sacked or disciplined for the forging.

you know full well I meant stability for the country. It isn't entirely clear what you mean because the context is payment vs results. So, I was left guessing. However, honestly, the notion that you meant that the country would be more stable if everyone was paid regardless of the results they create, seemed a bit of an over-stretch to me. Apparently, this is exactly what you meant?

LOL! Not a bad point but nonetheless one which overlooks a few salient points: 1) I didn't have an income problem - I used to work quite happily in the private sector. 2) From an employee's perspective, the public sector is just another employer: They wanted my skills and I was happy with the package that they were offering. Same as any job. State jobs are fundamentally different. In the private sector you get paid so much and they expect to be paid more than that. This means you have to be good enough so a customer willingly buys your services. Whatever you do it has to be valuable. As for the state version, not that I have ever done a state job, but I understand the overriding important thing is you do stuff to satisfy some metric that department is supposed to achieve. I hear stories about state jobs and people bluffing it. The 'look like you are doing something useful' ploy etc. I’m having problems unravelling the quotation system here but something struck me in this post By your own admission you have never done a ‘state’ ie ‘government’ job. How then do you know what the hell they ask their employees to achieve ? I’ve only done one myself. But when I wore a white coat as a research scientist paid for partly by the Medical me Research bbc Council and partly by the NHS when we had ONE NHS covering the entire country, my general aim was to try to ensure the grim reaper collected as few as possible of the people coming in the front door. I never had that many complaints on that score. Mind you I admit it would have been difficult for any failures to complain. I mean, you hear all these relatives wishing their departed were still with us but when youbreanimate them there’s all the screaming and running …

Forgery is the deliberate criminal attempt to deceive others usually a document containing false information to obtain something they want usually money for example a false Mortgage application What motive would any worker in the DWP have to deliberately punch into their computer system 50 instead of 5, none whatsoever unless you are under the illusion and fantasy that the DWP are trying to prevent people who are entitled to a benefit from getting it, by a deliberate criminal Act. Most people with any common sense can see what happened a simple unintentional Clerical error they do happen that has now been rectified

Well when DWP salaries and even retention of job depends on meeting satisfactory performance targets and targets for benefit sanctioning were top down set there was very much motivation for such falsifying.

They seem like a lower more primitive from of our own species in South Wales.
By the way, my brother's Chinese wife only has one friend in this country and that is a Chinese girl who lives over in Newport. I think they know each other from China. Very oddly though she says she really likes Newport. This is the remarkable thing with the Chinese - they are happy even in the most dire circumstances.
