Hi vinny What evidence? All the countries that have this type of legislation have not recorded increases in sexual violence against women. On the other hand, they've recorded a significant decrease in violence and abuse of transgender people Why should we force someone to have surgery? That in itself is a big contribution to the very high suicide rates of transgender people. Men have penises, women have vaginas. Understand ? If a man wants to be a woman, he needs to undergo surgery if he wishes to become a she. It's not a simple case of changing a pronoun. It takes surgery called "vaginoplasty". If a woman wants to be a man, she needs to undergo surgery to create a replica penis, the surgery is called "phalloplasty". Once surgery has been carried out, then paperwork can be provided. Thing is, procedure is irreversible. And what contributes to the suicide rate of transgender people is lefties messing with the minds of very young people, and making cases of body dysmorphia far far worse. It's people like the SNP who cause the high suicide rates of transgender people and you are supporting a policy that will make matters worse.
I agree but here's the problem with that ^ As you've posted before that reassignment surgery should not be carried out without careful consideration. One of the criteria used is that a man must have lived 'as a woman' for some time (I believe it's 2 years) before the irreversible surgery can occur. So it all presents a contradiction. Person still has a penis so has to be a treated as a man but somehow has to live that time 'as a woman'. My view FWIW is we have to accept they can self declare as a woman BUT they cannot access women only areas until after the surgery. That presents them with some difficulties but IMHO less net harm that the distress and occasional danger to women with vaginas that having the 'living as a women despite having a penis' people access those women only areas. But letting them change their names etc and for 99% of life be a 'woman' during that time is OK (as long as not accessing those women only areas) Ambiguity yes but also least net harm.

I was drinking with my brother last night, on the strong stuff, and missed this morning's fun.
Not sure what to do for the rest of the day.

Thought you'd be the sort to go to a clay pigeon shoot Boxing Day. Me and Mrs K are eating all the left over nibbles, watching some of those documentaries you record and rarely watch and trying to avoid alcohol for a bit. The cats seem to have other plans for us

One of my mates has a little clay pigeon shooting club. I woke up a half hour after they'd started by the time I got there, finished.

Hi vinny Only trouble is there is little or no evidence that this legislation has had bad outcomes. In terms of what is required to be transgender, I leave it to those that feel that they are, to determine it. And where has this exact legislation been enacted?
Please provide evidence.
Ah Nigel the one line wonder. When you do a girls job in the civil service do you go to work as a man or a woman. Or in that office I presume is full of both male and female, do you take the piss out of those who are gay or lesbian. And in terms of evidence you have already had it. Or are you another stupid Englishman who insist men in England do not dress up as woman and attack woman. In terms of where it has been enacted. You can start with Argentina, through to Iceland then onto Malta. taking in several EU countries. The tell me how England has the highest rate of this type of crime. You know how men do not dress up as woman. Now how about you providing evidence, which you do not have the ability, otherwise. I await more one line wonder garbage. www.scottishtrans.org/our-work/gender-recognition-act-reform-2022/gra-in-the-world/ www.cps.gov.uk/south-east/news/ex-boyfriend-sentenced-acid-attack-while-disguised-woman

The bill in question passed by a more than two thirds majority of MSPs (86-39). Section 35 of the Scotland Act grants the Secretary of State limited veto power to make an order prohibiting the Presiding Officer from submitting a Bill for Royal Assent. Two conditions apply to staging such an intervention:
(1)If a Bill contains provisions— (a)which the Secretary of State has reasonable grounds to believe would be incompatible with any international obligations or the interests of defence or national security, or (b)which make modifications of the law as it applies to reserved matters and which the Secretary of State has reasonable grounds to believe would have an adverse effect on the operation of the law as it applies to reserved matters.
Such an intervention is subject to judicial review.

Sturgeon will now use trans identity politics as a political football for independence.
Yawn.
