Well it seems to be what the supporters of this bill want. Sturgeon has now said it is unacceptable for Bryson to be in a female prison due to the possible risk to other inmates. When you have biological women who are a risk to other inmates nobody suggests they should be moved to a male prison, the threat they pose is accommodated within the womens jail. So why do the supporters of this Law want to treat transgender women differently? - is this a tacit recognition that they are not real women after all?. If that is the case what is the point of the Law? |

Hi pacifico Well the bottom line is that the proponents of the legislation thought that the balance of rights, treatment and responsibilities was skewed against transgender people As such a perfect answer is probably impossible. The literal answer to your question is that I expect biological women come out differently from transgender women in the risk assessment so their outcome will be different. Nicola sturgeon was probably unwise to say that as my response would have been that the outcome of where anyone ends up depends on the risk assessment. Because you're going down a minefield of extremely unlikely what ifs. For example suppose a homosexual mam rapes another male. What sex prison should he be held? My answer would be whatever one the risk assessment says. Do you not see that all this talk is around prisons, the criminal justice system and violent people who are biological males? What's the transgender legislation got to do with that issue? |

I have read that the freak in question may well be sent, or has been sent, to Barlinnie. I don't know much about this particular prison, can any of our Scottish correspondents tell us if it is known for it's woke agenda? If not I suspect this chap can expect quite a sore bottom in the days to come.
Sturgeon has now proved that her incompetence and low scheming knows no limits, and even the half hearted posts of support on here can't mask the fact that she has blown it, she started the wrong fight and has spectacularly lost it. The bloke that forced old Billy Bagpipes out of the top spot in Westminster seems to be even more thick and incoherent than Sturgeon, is the end in sight for the SNP?
Meanwhile, the Shetlanders are full of praise for Westminster at the prospect of a new ferry, unlike the poor wretches in the Western Islands who are relying on the SNP to sort out their ferries. It is expected that time travel will be introduced before these ferries will be floating.

He won’t be getting many Christmas cards from Stonewall at al though. It is probably worth pointing out one of the BBC pages on this subject features a comment from the EX governess ?? of the women’s prison to which this person was initially taken stating pretty categorically she would not have allowed them to be admitted to her prison in the first place. I am open to persuasion that other criminals, convicted of crimes deserving of a custodial sentence, whose crime has no relation to sexual offences against women and who is no longer equipped with male ‘paraphernalia’ might safely be incarcerated in a women’s prison but yeah, fuck me how the hell this case ever got to this point beggars belief. |

Bryson has been sent to Saughton in Edinburgh. Barlinnie is in glasgow.
He/She hasnt been sentenced yet , and is due back up next week from reports. I highly doubt he will serve his sentence in barlinnie , which is a short term ( 4 years or less) prison.

I allows trans people to use female changing rooms and toilets for example , without having a GRC.
