Even at the safety of women and girls? You think the rights of possibly criminally minded people using transgender laws to be a threat to women and girls supersedes the rights of the women and girls? That is what this is all about, not victimisation of transgender people, but of course Jaydee is too thick to see that. Hi Om15 Why are both mutually exclusive? Transgender people can legally access women's spaces right now, with the 2004 uk act. Even with penises. So what is the extra risk with the new legislation? Particularly since there's no evidence of it in countries that have already passed it. Argentina, Denmark etc.

Not without extensive medical supervision and processes, they can't just choose to change sex because it is either convenient to further predator aims or to get into a women's prison.

So explain to me how it is happening in England. Which you deny. You said it cannot happen there because of the law. That is what you have said twice. Then explain to me on what grounds did the the clown jack in the box issue a 35 order. You explain to me. Then explain to me how the FM wants to be a man. That is what you said. Then explain to me how is she a criminal. That is what you aid. You keep making this charge. Yet all the criminals seem to breed amongst the Westminster wankers. You really are not very good at even making stupid statements . Are you

It applies everywhere matey. You are the one waffling matey. In fact I expect you to waffle a bit more soon matey. What applies everywhere. So what are you going to change the goal post to now. As in your previous drivel According to the stupidity of the English on here. Men dressed as woman cannot attack woman in England as it is against the law there. That is what they ae saying. So how do they do it in England

Hi Om15 You missed comment on the second part of my post, that there was no evidence of increase in predatory males abusing the legislation in countries that had already passed similar legislation. Even subjectively, just think about it. Who on earth is going to do it? Live as a woman for 6 months, apply for A GRC, then use it to access women's spaces? Where plenty of people will be within earshot, ready to come to the victim's aud? When there's plenty of remote car parks, dimly lit streets, female relatives in the house, and other far more accessible and less risky environments to launch your attack from? I also submit that prisons are a special category of their own, filled with already violent people. You should also know that hate crimes against transgender people, has more than trebled in Scotland over the last 3 years, fuelled by misinformation about the new laws. Nobody will admit it, but I believe when they talk about perverts, they mean transgender people.

Joanne Cherry (SNP) has been interviewed in the Scotsman, despite the claims that this Perverts Charter has overwhelming support and completely justifies Home Rule, she does in fact speak for the appalled majority, no doubt someone will now come along and slag her off, but it is a relief to see that even at top levels in the SNP there is some common sense and moral responsibility.

I have no idea what other people mean, however I know what I mean, a pervert is someone who has commited rape, been convicted and then makes a decision to claim to be a women in order to make re offending easier, the term should also be applicable to those who make this possible.

Hi Om15 Stop throwing in strawmen. No one is claiming that it has majority appeal or justifies home rule. But it doesn't negate it either. Ms Cherry has a point of view I disagree with but she would not claim her point of view negates the independence issue. You didn't answer me. Surely it's possible to have the new law AND have a robust system that doesn't allow predatory males to abuse it. They're not mutually exclusive.

Hi everyone Reem Alsalam Also floats a complete strawman. No one has ever said that predatory males taking advantage of legislation NEVER happens. But the solution is better systems to stop it, not abandoning a piece of legislation that potentially makes transgender lives much better. Not sending men to women's prisons might be a good start. Spot on.

When even the UN are pointing out the pitfalls of putting a convicted rapist in a womens jail you might think that some people would stop and reconsider if their decisions are correct.. Hi pacifico That's a failure of the system. That should be corrected. .but it happened under existing rules and has no bearing on whether the transgender new legislation should be passed. Removing the medical input and making it easier to change your gender is going to make such cases more or less common?

Out of curiosity, do you agree with your SNP colleagues when they call for TERFs to be decapitated? I haven't read or heard of anyone in Westminster calling for people to be killed. The party that you support is a disgrace. Sturgeon has brought Scotland down to the level of Germany in the 1930s by calling for people with whom they disagree to be decapitated.
And before you say that Sturgeon has condemned this, it is Sturgeon who has created the environment that makes this sort of language the norm in Scotland. You support people like that and then come on here to insult Westminster politicians. You are a brainwashed braindead bigot.

The answer to that question in 'No' - so if you increase the amount of biological men accessing women only spaces I would cast grave doubts on the quality of any 'evidence' that declares there will be no increase in attacks.

Hi pacifico If you search on this very issue here is at least one piece of research. I'll link it in my next post as I cannot copy 2 things at once on my phone. I also cannot do emphasis on my phone, so all that follows is not mine Opponents of LGBTQ+ equality have admitted that their bathroom safety argument was contrived and not a real concern based on habits of actual predators. It is important to remember that anti-LGBTQ+ hate groups used similar “predator” stereotypes against gay people as recently as the nineties and early two-thousands. These ill-informed misbeliefs about gay people led to discriminatory laws such as Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell. During the Civil Rights era, segregationists used stereotypes about Black men being sexually predatory in order to oppose integration. These false arguments and stereotypes have simply been recycled to attack another marginalized group, transgender people.
