Hi everyone Just thought I'd let you all know that there is a demonstration by transgender people in George Square right now, showing how they feel about the uk government and it's actions. Devastated is an understatement about how they feel. Struggling for decades to get a small part of the UK to see their point of view, finally getting there. Then, from their point of view, the uk government deciding that they're still freaks and perverts. Not saying that's the uk government's view, it's what they think. No one on here seems to have any empathy for them. Except maybe happyjack and me. Unfortunately, Mrs Thatcher took away a lot of mental health beds from the NHS and now we have "care in the community". What a shame that happened. Hi blackiswhite So you think they're mentally ill? As it so happened, I was kicking my heels in Glasgow City Centre waiting for a friend to arrive when I picked up on your post so I popped over to demonstrate my empathy. Unfortunately the place was deserted by then. |

Why are people with feelings they are in the wrong body sent for counselling? I'm not sorry. I'm not easily lied to either. I chose my username, mostly because of this issue. There are people who will tell you women can have penises and that men can have cervixes. There are people will tell you good is evil and vice versa. I'm not having any of it. Black is not white. Men are not women. Good is not evil. |

Hi blackiswhite That sums up the whole history of how transgender people have been treated. They've been sent for counselling because they've been treated as mentally ill or perverted or both. Every single point on your list is not the point. They know that black isn't white either. Many are more intelligent than you or I. To understand them properly, you'd have to be one. I recognise that. What you write shows that you don't. There was a transgender person on the scottish news last night, playing a set of bagpipes that was self made. Not something I could do. Was the Scottish government responsible for manufacturing a grievance against Westminster or was Westminster trying to act the big shot? Hard to tell since they've both been guilty of that. Your post might help. If nicola sturgeon was going to pick a fight with Westminster, surely this is the last issue she'd have picked? One that's even unpopular with her own supporters and could conceivably reduce support for independence. So I'm swinging to the view that Westminster is to blame. Your last sentence. Are you sure that's the right way round? An SNP minister was complaining this morning that Mr Jack would'nt tell her how it could be amended so that it would pass. |

I know that it is popular among the dim witted SNP supporters to blame Westminster for everything, but even they must concede that it is illogical to blame Westminster for Sturgeon breaking the law. Anyway, Sturgeon and her baying brownshirt supporters have been slagging off Westminster and trying to pick a fight since 2014, now they have a fight and they are going to be stuffed. Good.
I shall enjoy seeing Westminster give Sturgeon a good humiliating drubbing and will waste no opportunity to keep you up to date with the details.

Why on earth should he, Sturgeon came up with this shite, why is it someone else's job to sort it out and make it legal, it is an embarrassing mess and a humiliation for Scotland and Sturgeon is to blame.

She acted within the powers of the devolution settlement. It's just that IT MAYBE infringed on a uk law. But you've done the standard tactic. I've told you why I think it's illogical for the fight to be picked on this particular issue and you've ignored me and produced a generalised response. So, specifically, if she's going to pick a fight, why pick one where it's unpopular with her supporters? If she's baying for a fight, why not pick a better issue? |
