Okay, draw up a list of incidents of corruption in the EU and we'll compare. Compare what - what has Johnson got to do with rampant corruption in the EU? Do you think there is some sort of contest going on to have the highest level of corruption? Try multiplying Boris' dropped bollocks, costs to the nation and number of deaths for instance, by 27. The very size of the EU makes your biased posts reek of silliness.

Oh the irony. It turned out that one of the biggest offenders was the UK which is why they fined us massively. Anyone thinking that leaving ended that UK illegality gets the 2022 Ah Bless award The UK was never the only offender. Didn't say it was but we were one of the biggest knowingly allowing massive imports from China without charging tariffs knowing full well they were going to be re-exported to the wider EU We were fined £billions

This thread is supposedly about corruption at the top of the EU. Specifically, the arrest of European Parliament Vice President Eva Kaili. However, having read through the thread I couldn't help noticing that Einy, the EU's rep on the forum, has in the most withering terms criticised the following: Brexit Nigel Farage Boris Johnson Liz Truss The UK Parliament The House of Lords Putin and Russia But not a single word of criticism for ex European parliament Vice President Eva Kaili who has been arrested for corruption. Hands up anyone who's surprised.

The EU's links to China (just as the UK has links to China) are another aspect of concern, especially if dodgy money has been paid out to bribe politicians (I hope that isn't the case, but it is possible).
But, Qatar, petrodollars and corrupt politicians are a big problem for the EU right now. This is not going to go away.

If this is the first corruption scandal in the EU since 1948, it is clearly more honest than the UK where countries pay for holidays to advertise their political purity ( and the lucky tourist gets to he Home Sec) where the House of Lords, peers of the realm, get paid for new duck houses and heated stables, where cronies of the government are awarded hundreds of millions of pounds worth of contracts with no due scrutiny, where quiet words in side rooms determine building regs which kill dozens of people in a terrible fire.
If you want to make a fuss about corruption in high places look no further than most national governments. It is a fact of life. If the UK and other governments had as clean a record as the EU, there would be a great improvement in ethical behaviour.

No, this is just the first super high profile corruption case involving Qatar and coinciding with a world cup. There was the Santer Commission scandal of 1999. The Prodi Commission which was meant to clean up corruption, didn't. www.theguardian.com/world/2003/sep/22/eu.politicsYou haven't been paying attention my son. Whereever there are politicians, there's some who are crooks. The EU is not immune to this problem.

Seeing as how you've had to go back 19 years to find an alleged £1M corruption issue and over 23 years to find a second I suggest you're looking at this through very skewed glasses.
