Death in service payments to members of the Armed Forces who die off-duty will be caught by Rachel Reeves’s inheritance tax raid from 2027, The Telegraph understands...... Campaigners are calling on the Government to make death in service payments exempt from the punitive measure which would cut funds to grieving families by up to 40pc. Death in service payments are usually a lump sum paid to named beneficiaries of a worker who dies while on the company payroll. It is typically the equivalent of four-times the late individual’s salary. For members of the Armed Forces, these are paid whether or not the individual was “on duty” at the time of their death. Those who die “on duty” will continue to benefit from a separate tax-free arrangement on their death in service payments. However, a military worker who dies while technically “off duty” but still serving will be stung by the new inheritance tax rules. The changes will apply to service personnel who are unmarried or not in a civil partnership. For example, the children of a widowed soldier who dies off-duty would be charged up to 40pc on their death in service payouts.....

If the European guy is not going to stay then they are even less use. Less burdensome on the Economy if they was one. But im happy to see you want low skilled workers and low paid workers to stay . Well come to the dark side Hang on - you say we need unskilled immigration but then agree that they are less burden on the economy if they go home. You need to work a bit on your analytical processes and figure out what it is you are trying to argue for.. |

Even the unskilled migrants need doing and the fiscal situation changed after Brexit when a decrease in our European cousins and immigrants from worldwide brought there dependants with them and are more unhealthy then the European. It's a situation you Brexitiers brought on yourselves suck it up Why would you import unskilled immigrants to make yourself poorer? I think the problem is that white birthrates are so low. That's true across most of Europe and in the Far East in Asian countries. The issue is that unless you bring the birthrate up, you will end up with too big an ageing population - then who will pay for the pensions? No one will be available to Their only solution is to bring in more migrants, I'm not saying it's sustainable but if even Viktor Orban's idea to promote a baby boom didn't work - what else is going to work? Mandatory... birthing? I somehow don't think that will work either |

That's the threshold they imposed under Theresa May, there's no proof linked in the article that that's the mathematical number one needs to reach in order not to be a net drain on the economy. They also exempted certain sectors from that requirement If shortages aren't filled in certain fields, the price may be significantly higher. And if PhD students can't come over and work doing groundbreaking research (a price can't be put on that, it may yield billions or it may yield nothing or even be a huge net drain, because there's no way of showing what research will ever definitely lead to) that may cause huge problems too, so the exemptions were put in place. I don't disagree with putting caps on things, but I suspect there's a reason they made so many u-turns on these migration policies over many years and added so many exemptions. Well, you could argue it was because they were Remainers, Theresa May was. |

Oh I see what the 35k figure is, it's logical. It relates to that 53% of households are net recipients, so 35k is roughly the average salary? So you're roughly around the 50% mark.

Shove the small boats back to frogland or sink them mid channel. But no the woke RNLI are used to pick the wankers up and plant them on our shores helped of course by the frog and UK border farces.. Wouldn't waiting till they come ashore and immediately rounding them up and taking them to some kind of extermination camp be a more efficient way of killing them? And when you call the RNLI woke for not letting thousands of men, women and children drown, then you really are sitting on top of that moral mountaintop, aren't you? |
